Hello all. I'm still dealing with acne. Ugh. I thought my last regimen worked wonderfully but then the Doryx stopped working and I got cysts again. *sigh*

I'm now on 65mg of Solodyn, Triaz wipes for my body, Acanya in the morning and Retin-A Micro at night. And my skin has never, ever, ever been worse. Ever. I've been on this new regimen for about 2 months now (I think), and I have breakouts in places I've never had breakouts before. My neck, my chest, my breasts, my back, my entire face, it's unreal. My back is terrible... I have painful inflamed pimples even on my lower back. Since starting the Solodyn I've also been scarring terribly. I'm extremely pale and every single pimple I get leaves a scar.

I called my dermatologist today to ask them if it's safe to just stop using the Solodyn. I asked them to call me in my old Doryx because at least with that I never had such body acne!! This is horrifying. I'm 27 years old and I'm really starting to hate myself a lot because of my acne. I have an appointment next week with my dermatologist and I am going to ask for Accutane. I know it's harsh but I just cannot deal with this anymore. I think I've now tried every single medication/pill/cream/gel/etc. under the sun and nothing works for me. Unbelievable.

I've been avoiding going places with friends because of how bad my skin is right now. It's interfering with my life in a big way and I don't even know what to do!

So this is my new log. I'm going to take photos and try to post them daily.

Okay. Haven't had a chance to update this at all. I discontinued the Solodyn and got put back on 150mg of Doryx. Had to skip my dermatologist appointment to discuss Accutane since I started a new job and have been pretty busy lately.

Here are some photos. They aren't the greatest since I snapped them with my cell phone, but they'll do for now. The acne along my neckline hurts, it's cystic. Some of the acne on my lower back hurts as well. The acne on my chest seems to be improving, but it's hard to tell because they're just tiny red dots that don't really hurt much. There are also some red marks on my breast but I feel weird posting that, lol.

I also broke out a little on my forehead but didn't get pic of it. BLEH!

I've been using Triaz pads at least once a day in the shower, on my body. I've been using Evoclin foam on my chest, Acanya in the morning on my face and Retin A Micro in the night time on my face. Sometimes I will spot treat my back with Acanya too. Then the Doryx 150 mg. I'm so sick of dealing with this crap.

Why aren't my photos showing up!??!

That's not really that bad, to say it's destroyed your skin is kind of an overstatement. So far Solodyn has been doing good on my skin.

So sorry you're going through this - it's hell. Everyone's body is different so we have to keep on telling the docs what's working and what isn't. I hate that this seems to be such a guessing game on the part of the docs...like shouldn't there be some more scientific way to determine what would work for what skin type, etc.??? Hang in there. You're young and still have time to outgrow it. But till then keep on talking with your doc and keep on trying things till something works. I'm saying this because at your age I gave up on docs and tried to wing it on my own which meant that I had years and years of agony. Although today there are soooo many more choices and many more effective treatments. You're lucky! Keep trying....

wth, your acne looks moderate in those pics.

When you say every pimple is leaving a scar, are you talking about a PITTED SCAR or discoloration? If it is a pitted scar, i would stop the retina immediately!
