Hey all!

I may be a new user to this site, but I have been lurking around for quite some time! tongue.gif

So I have had acne since I was 12, and I am currently 16. I started acne as soon as I got my period and my acne is always bad during that time of the month so I know that it is some what hormonal. I have tried such products as Clean and Clear, Neutragena, Clenia etc. My derm recently suggested I go on an oral medication, sadly the name has slipped my memory. I went straight home and researched this drug. The side effects were too risky for me, including headaches, dizzyness, and other problems.

I do not want to put chemicals into my body and I have tried other natural methods such as honey, olive oil and aloe. Now, I want to try and add some internal boost.

My Regimen:
Fish Oil from Omega-3- 3195mg( total)
EPA- 1200mg
DHA- 600mg
Vit E- 400IU

Morning:
-Wash face with warm water + LUSH Charcoal Cleaners(might change this soon)
-I always have a Kefir smoothie with some type of fruit for breakfast + leafy greens
-sometimes apply a bit of apple cider vinegar to face and back
-Moisturize with clean and clear dual acne moisturizer +Olive oil (if needed)
-One Omega-3 capsule

During the day:
-NO PICKING! (argh this is so hard for me!!! Only when a zit comes to head will I gently pop it and then medicate it with BP)
-Eat a healthy lunch at school (again, very hard! usually a salad or tuna fish)
-drink water

Night:
-Dinner is hard to do in my house but I try to eat a lot of salad as well as veggies in general, and not a lot of meat.
-Wash face with warm water + LUSH Fresh Farmacy (might change this later)
-Allow face to dry and then apply ACV to face, back, and chest
-Apply BP to face
-Moisturize with olive oil and vitamin E capsule
-drink water or green tea
-consume 2 Omega-3 capsules
-consume 1 Vitamin E capsule

I would describe my acne as some what severe, i usually have 3 or more cysts on my cheeks and some pimples around my nose or mouth. my forehead and chin are relatively clear. I have a TON of red marks and scars from past picking and nastiness, but thankfully no pits.

Anyone who has a suggestion about a good cleanser, I would love to hear about it! I really need a new one I think, seeing as I am using two already tongue.gif

I will make my first post tm and I will try to make them shorter then this one smile.gif

PS- I started this regimen a week ago, with a very slight improvement. Today, I forgot to take my omega-3 pill and by the end of the day I had three gross pimples staring me down. Not sure if the two events are connected since I am coming close to that time of the month, but hopefully I can clear up those pimples fast and remember to take my supplements! biggrin.gif

I'm making this log to help motivate myself and anyone else up to it smile.gif I would love to hear about any success stories or horrible experiences with the products I am using, my mind is open to all knowledge about acne.

My Goal- Get CLEAR! And find the method that works once and for all!

Day 1:

So I woke up this morning and another two pimples had come to head so I gently popped them and applied some ACV and BP, and then extra olive oil as I dread putting makeup over dry skin. *shiver*

Well turns out i didn't have to worry about the dryness! My face was an oil slick by the end of the day, the temperature outside was more than 90 degrees. Ew. And one other pimple came to head today, but no new cysts appeared which is very good. I'm pretty sure my new whiteheads occurred yesterday because of my period and the forgetting about the Omega 3. (which I took today)

So I wouldn't say any change yet, I hope I can make it through this week without getting anything too horrible on my face!

Day 2 and 3:

Ugh. A couple of new breakouts on my chin and upper lip, but none on my cheeks which is nice as I usually get cystic acne there. I've noticed that popped pimples are healing nicely and that some scarring is less noticeable. I was out in the sun for a bit so that might have helped.

I started to add leafy greens to my smoothie in the morning to hopefully get some more Vitamin A. smile.gif Sorry about the lack of update, I haven't been feeling to great due to the fact that I always get moody this time of the month, but I will be back and in full swing.

Oh, and I stopped using a cleanser in the morning. I wake up, wash my face with warm water, and then splash it with cold water and then follow the routine. I've also been icing a lot of my face when I get home from school to try and close up more pores, and it seem to have been helping a bit.
