I see, can't you use emu oil for spot treatment as well?

Yes as in which that is what it is really intendend for and is how i am using it. I do not use it all over, just spot treating mainly if its pretty red.

Well i am really putting this emu oil to the test tonight because once again my face was looking good and what do ya know, developing a nice lip pimple and it is red as hell and inflammed. Pretty fn embarrasing once again, cant ever just be clear all over, everytime i get close my acne decides to say "oh no, fuk you we are not letting you be sane or clear!" Then i get the most embarrasing ones, right on the bottom lip. I just dont understand it and its so frustrating as hell, i broke down some again because of it. Just SO TIRED OF IT ALL, i can not stress it enough! Overall i am happier with it and it looks better overall and feels better with washing mildly with water and using harsh chemicals only as a last resort spot treatment. But it just wont stop embarrasing me and making me feel like shit day in and day out.

Anyway hopefully when i wake up the emu oil well have made it tons better but since its on my lip and there the worse it will be a fat chance. Well i figured i would update with this rant since it is a log and all and i am almost done with week two before going from 2g to 3g. Sigh praying the emu oil works tonight and gets this fker to go. eusa_pray.gif rant over for now eusa_wall.gif

Thanks shells! Ya i try to keep this in mind everyday and do the best i can with it, but it is very hard not to still get down and depressed with it. Ive gotten better about it, but not like i should.

Well anyway the emu overnight did not take the pimple redness or inflammation away. Im thinking emu only works best in the healing stages of the pimple after its popped or whatever, since that was the case with the other one i had on chin the other day or maybe its just because no meds really work on my lip pimples that well which is the big bummer! Argh! Makes my work week even longer sad.gif

jay, i've read your B5 log and i am doing B5 as well. Its something i've tried on and off for years so i've had it in the house and when i get desperate i try it again. Its very rough on my stomach as i have some gastro issues. Im curious what supplements do you take along with the B5? I'm currently taking Nicomide, D3, Fish oil and saw palmetto. I also take the liquid form of B5 and its so much easier than the pills. Its from acne-vitamins.com. 2 tablespoons a day until clear then you can ween down. My issue seems to be similiar to yours. My oil production and sebum plugged pores are the worst for me. Only when i can control it my skin is great. As soon as it gets dry and irritated it will start to flake thus clogging everthing up. I think exfoliating every few days with something gentle also helps.

smile.gif after leeching here for a couple years im finally starting to post yay! Anyways, little backstory I've had acne since beginning of high school, tried proactiv and other over counter products, nothing worked. Then i tried finally went to the derm (parents got insurance) they gave me cetaphil and differin, didn't work and my derm said that it was more than likely something wrong inside of me, and gave mea presrciption of Solodyn, tht stuff worked amazing completely cleared in about a month, but when i had no health insurance it wasn't an option.

So i searched the board and found b5 posts, start megadosin and it worked! started with about 2g a week and built up to 10 to 15g a day, mainly on the lower end, cleared up completely in about a couple months.

Then i just maintained with a 3g a day dose for 2 years. Just recently decided to get off since im goin to get into the military and basic is coming up. Big mistake within 3 months my skin was horrible again. But im goin to start again in a couple days, i have 3 months till basic so i want to clear up before then.

Anyways i do want to note, the pills worked like crap for me. I went with 1fast400 powder and it was awesome. Also suffered one side affect witch was diarrhea every once in a while, but i think if you eat accordingly it can be overcome. Anyways i'd love to hear your progress and will soon post my own log once i start again.

Good Luck

Was your skin also oily? If so, did the B5 make it go away?

Sorry i took so long to reply. My skin was sorta oily where it would shine. Anyways yeah i couldnt get 1fast400 but im on Nutraplanet's powder now, about a week of use though and i haven't really noticed a change, but then again my skin isn't really oily just a mess of red spots. So im still lookin to get a good routine goin.

Is it possible to combine with zinc? (vit b5)

Does vitamin b5 modify my level of estrogens or testosterone?

I feel ya Jay. Sometimes I think acne or our body gets so used to the products we use bc I've used tea tree oil when I was acne free and it was fine. Now when breakouts happens, its less effective! grr

@eterna, I take 50mg zinc daily, it shouldnt be a problem and when you take your daily vitamins, they include zinc as well.

DAY 14

Well since its been another week, i went up another gram in dosage as planned. So now my dosage is 3g of B5 for this week and still always taking B-100 complex with it.

For me i am starting to see a diffence in my skin so i am not sure how much higher i will go, right now i am thinking maybe up to 5g, but again we will see and its only been 2 weeks. I can see that my skin is less oily. I did still experince some breakouts like the lip pimples and ones on my nose, but other than that my skin has actually looked better "overall". Not to where i want right now still, i would love to where it would stop breaking out period.

So right now i am healing up all over once again and im hoping that it will stay that way. My hair becoming less oily throughout the day is def improved the most. Before i started by 12 hours of not washing it, it would be oil slick, and now it takes about a whole 24 hours which is really good, but trust me i am washing it every day regardless lol, not gonna test to see how long i can go thats just gross lol.

Well like i said i am noticing positive improvement and hopefully it will continue to get better from here on out.

It is not the best at all. I have tried the diet regimen in the past though for 3 months which involved not having processed food what so ever while avoiding dairy, gluten and soy. I still broke out like normal.

I still avoid dairy and only drink water with every meal. Mainly it consists of lots of protein and i will have a rice and veggie side with it at night, but breakfast and lunch consists of processed meals. I use snack foods like almonds, cashews, and stuff so thats good. Never eat things like chips. So my diet is not real bad, but def could be lots better. Like i said though it didnt help me in the past when i cleaned it up though.

I've been on this stuff for almost a week, 5 grams a day. I think it's safe to say my skin is the same or maybe even a little worse. I'm going up to 10 grams a day in 2 days.

How's it going for you?

vitamins can'd help - sorry. It's not even clear whether they can be absorbed well because a vitamin pill contails all the vitamins you need at once and they all compete for absorption.

Are you a licensed physician or a doctor? Your expressing an opinion not a fact, so lets set the story straight before you mislead others. Yes vitamins do not work for everyone, but there are plenty of people out there where B5 has worked for them or any other vitamin for that matter. Some people its diet, some its BP, some its accutane, some its BCP, or hell even urine!

There are all kinds of diff things that work for diff people so you can not say that vitamins don't help.

@ caliente- right now i am using the one from vitacost. I am currently awaiting on the one realtalk has, coming straight from australia unprocessed. You can find it here: http://www.emustore.com/

@Jay326- Sorry its getting worse for you right now, but there was others in the thread that had an IB from it before going to or while on 10g. Remember some it took 2-3 months at 10g to get and stay clear. It takes time just like any other regimen does so dont give up!

Right now for me i am still experiencing breakouts myself. They are not as inflammed though so far which is a good thing, jus a few small whitheads. Still slightly oily but not really that much, it has gone down quite a bit, especially in my hair. Couple more days and i will be going up to 4g (3rd week). Oh and my urine looks like mountain dew lol.

DAY 20

Ok well starting tomorrow i will be a 4g for the week and i am thinking that might be close to stopping my oil production. My lips are starting to stay dry and a lil chapped in the corners. After that one lip pimple healed and now is slightly pink i had developed one smaller pimple under it near lip and another one on the other side of chin near bottom lip. So one on left side and right side. They started off small i put some emu oil on them and it really didnt help, they both developed a whitehead and fell off. This was monday. Then as of yesterday tuesday they just blew up out of nowhere, i dont understand it. All red and inflammed when i thought they were gonna stay small and go away. Thats never happened before and has gotten me very depressed because it looks like total shit right now being so close to my bottom lip on both sides. Ive got benzaclin on it right now. I have one small whitehead in middle of chin, but it never gets inflammed in middle of chin and goes away quickly so not worried about that. Everywhere else i am pretty much clear, this these 2 awful embarrasing inflammed spots now. UGH!!! I fn can not stand having my persistant acne near my mouth.

Well since i am pretty depressed with how i am looking right now because of those 2 fkers, i went ahead and ordered some SLS and fluoride free Tom Maynes toothpaste. Might as well try that too. I also made an appt with my doc for monday to talk to her once again about my persistant problem i have around my mouth and chin and talk about the B5 im taking and accutane again. It will probably be healing up by monday but the mark of redness will def be there. Be glad when this work week is done and i can hide these two hideous fuckers. Sorry for the potty mouth but i am just tired of having such embarrsing spots. Why does it have to always be so close to my lip or on lip. I just dont get it. If it was not for those 2 right now my skin would be looking pretty good. Thats what makes them stand out even more though and it sux! Its very sore too and my lips kinda burn with dryness near the corners, but glad to see im not oily as ever now.

Hopefully it was like a small IB or something idk, but im hoping it does not happen again. Plus i am still early in the B5 treatment its just hard to stay focused and continue when this happens. Ugh! I am trying to get this outta the way before summer because i do not want to spend another summer here and not go home and visit everyone again. Anyways rant done for now...... eusa_wall.gif

I know what you mean dude. It's like you say to yourself "damn my skin would look pretty good by the time this one goes away" and when its fully gone you have another big one to worry about.

Totally off topic but have you tried the regimen on here? I'm not doing anything topically on my face right now and was thinking about trying to regimen but wanted to get some input.

Just took a week off from work too because these 2 are so bad and disgusting looking. Awesome stuff huh? Spend a week off work just to heal these fkers, i love it!!!! (Lots of sarcasm). I just couldn't be at work because i would be thinking of it constantly and hate people having to keep glancing at it during convos. Cant blame them it is a monster.

I just dont know wtf happened and why it started off so little and harmless on both sides, and then decided to all of a sudden enlarge into fn volcanic eruptions. Like i got burned with a car cigarette lighter. I didnt fk with them at all because it was a small pimple to begin with no worries, but it wanted to just make me miserable anyway i guess and blow the fk up on both sides (rightside under lip, and left side near corner of mouth. I hope this is the last of the inflammed shit. I see a doctor on monday, and will be taking pictures of this for my phone for evidence for her. Because my acne always likes to get better and look its best when i see a dr it never fails. So this time i am catching them in the fn act! BASTARDS!!

The only thing i can think that happened was when the small whiteheads popped and it was a tiny red pimple i put emu oil on top of them in hopes of getting rid of the redness. Maybe the emu oil actually clogged it up somehow even though it has not to me before on other pimples. Day after is when it was all inflammed and red so only thing i can think of that happened. IDK. Still awaiting the other emu oil that is straight from the aussies, non processed and actually stinks.

Anyway another vent part of my log sry, but since its a pretty major breakout during a regimen i figured i would go into detail. Until then......
