ive begin to think this is true .. i didnt have acne growing up , then when i started jacking off i got acne now that i think of it , but i was always told that hormones would affect acne , and knew that hormones would rise when jacking off , so i always try to keep it to a minimum , but from today on , im not gonna wack it for a month stay off all sugars ! and bad food , and see if my skin clears up.. i dont rele have active acne i would say like 2-3zits ? but i got redmarks but i use bp aswell to control my acne .. lets see how this goes !

Ever thought you started 'Jacking off' around the same time you hit puberty and that hormonal imbalance casuse your acne?

Meh.

If you've ever taken any course in science, I'm sure you've heard the phrase "correlation does not prove causation." Hormones go up during puberty, and so do sexual urges, but it doesn't mean that acne is caused by sexual acts, but if you get into the habit of believing that it does, you might create your own placebo effect. It can actually reduce stress if you don't freak out and feel bad about doing it. Of course, it shouldn't be your main pastime. Just my opinion though, and if your skin actually does clear up from abstaining, and you don't mind abstaining, then more power to you!

Im gonna lay this out real simply

Stopped masturbating for a month = 100% clear (still on a strike anti candida diet)

Masturbated tonight = already 2-3 pimples forming (still on a strike anti candida diet)

I can't promise you that if you stop masturbating you will miraculously clear up. Its the same reason I can sit down and eat a 72 ounce steak without breaking out (o.k. it wasn't exactly 72 ounces but it was BIG) while some people would suffer a HUGE break out from eating such a large quantity of red meat. It just has to do with your body. So please don't go "typing at the top of your lungs" that masturbation doesn't cause acne. Because it does, for me, I'm living, breathing proof and I think that should be enough to squash any amount of "scientific research". Still, I'm glad there was some debate, now we can conclude that masturbation isn't some renowned link that ties all us acne sufferers together.

Nevertheless, if you seem to have tried everything but still suffer from acne try to stop masturbating for a month. I can't promise it will work, I'm just trying to share whats worked for me.

Best of luck

I don't find this particularly significant. If you're male, you pretty much have to masturbate. It's not optional. You have to flush the system.

You might as well say "breathing" causes acne.

Maybe "over ejaculation" is something to be avoided, but I doubt most people's acne is strongly tied to masturbating "too much," whatever that is.

My own prostate gland and testicles.

Don't forget the studies that have linked higher masturbation rates to lower incidences of prostrate cancer.

ok true detector forgot that. Yep it runs in my family so I better masturbate like 5x a day. (joke)

ps. how much was it? I remember more than 23x a month reduces risk with 40%. Or something like that.

Sexual stimulation does boost androgens, and androgens stimulate the pilosebaceous glands which lead to an increase in size and overproduction of oil... makes sense to me that masturbation can exacerbate acne.

With that said this might work for some people but for me lowering my testosterone and DHT just isn't on my list of ways to fight acne. In fact I most likely only have a problem in the first place because I bodybuild and do everything I can short of actually taking steroids to boost my testosterone/DHT. So I'm not going to give up sexual activity just like I'm not going to give up weight lifting, or eating a diet full of healthy fats, or getting 8 hours of sleep every night, or taking cold showers, or anything else proven to increase natural testosterone levels.

infact if you guys are worried about hormones just start drinking a lot of alcohol, that's proven to significantly lower testosterone levels.

I lift around 4 times a week too. I would recommend cutting out pre-energy supplements from lifting if you take any. I was taking NOXplode, Jack3d, or Black Powder. It takes time to get used to lifting without energy supplements, but my acne has gotten better since I stopped taking energy supps. I used to drink massive protein shakes that were like 80 grams a piece but stopped doing that and it seems to have helped too.

Of course, if you aren't interested in changing your lifting habits at all, then that's fine. I do believe alot of the habits and nutrition styles of weight lifting don't blend well with acne.

As for the masturbation part of this, I haven't really committed to stopping for more than 3 or 4 days. I really want to give it 2 weeks off to see if it does anything, but I just don't feel like it's causing my breakouts. Hopefully I can toughen up and do it hahaha

I haven't checked in on these forums for over a year. I used to spend alot of time and money on everything and anything i thought would help. I was even stupid enough to waste money on Benzoil Peroxide. That made my skin look worse and brought on serious depression.

I've read posts on this site of people drinking their on pee to clear their acne, now thats crazy.

Too those that think this is the way to go its stupid to say your gonna quit masturbating forever, but limiting is a good thing in a lot of ways.

I started limiting after quitting for 1 whole month. My skin cleared up.. my digestion was better regulated.. and i finally started showing gains in my weight lifting.

It makes me more confident as well.. I was on accutane and my skin was clear for 6 months, but i was never confident like this.

I think over masturbation/sex leads your mind or body to turn off its fight or flight response. I never use to go up to girls at bars or wherever and start conversations... Now i'm the life of the party.

I used to post on here all the time, if anyone wants to see exactly what my regimen was they can search on my profile. For guys out there, trust me its worth it.
