Hey guys! I'm going to try to be very brief with this.

About eight years ago, when I was ten years old, I started breaking out. Eventually I developed severe cystic acne on my face, neck, chest, shoulders, and back. I went to several dermatologists but nothing worked. After a few years, I decided to try things on my own to no avail, obviously. In December I met with a new dermatologist who took one look at me and immediately told me she was going to give me Accutane once I got all of my blood work done and such. To tie me over, she prescribed Doxycyline to calm my skin down and lessen my Accutane IB. I had TREMENDOUS progress with the Doxycyline and I wanted to share my results with you.

Here is my face before the treatment:

And this is me after a two month course of Doxycycline:

As for my doxy dosage, I was on 100mg/twice a day. smile.gif

They are some pretty good results. As you can see, it didn't get rid of all of your acne in that time (2 month period), but it got rid of most of it, like 80% of it.

Yes. It wasn't meant to be a perfect solution, just something to hold me over until I started Accutane. Regardless, I am pleased with the results!

You said you derm prescribed Doxycyline while you were waiting to get on Accutane. Mine did too. I have bee using Doxycyline for a few days and I get to start Accutane in about a month. Did you derm have you stay on Doxycyline for a month or so after you started Accutane?
