just because u eat an "american diet" doesn't mean ull get acne. its about genetics. several people who eat fast food everyday have perfect skin. of course they have other things to worry about... but there are americans that eat healthy food and still get acne.. saying the cause of acne is because of the food in western nations makes no sense whatsoever. and if anything the pressure to look and be perfect has made acne more of a problem nowadays.
Genes have nothing to do with it. All my genes say I will have acne, since my mom has acne and she's almost 50 and my brother has acne. It was only until I changed my diet where it went away. Also, people that had clear skin their whole life that went on a raw vegan diet had breakouts for a few weeks, because of toxin build up, it was hiding under the surface the whole time.
I think genes have to do with the way you eat. If your parents have acne and you have acne, you make think "it's my genes", but you eating the SAME EXACT food as your parents, living in a lifestlye that mimics your parents, chances are if you keep it up, you will look like them.
no genes must be mainly blamed for (otherwise how come there are ppl with worst lifestyles, worst diets, everything etc and no shit acne? maybe different other health conditions but flawless skin?), but the thing is to turn on or off this or that certain gene, so if we are naturally programmed to have acne genes being on in case of some disbalance it fcking sucks and we have to do something about it, which fcking sucks too but at least there is chance that we can turn them off right? now i didnt read that site completely but what i know is that turns out that food we eat impacts how much of bad genes are turned on or off as well, at least it is said so at this recent research or something, site, here check out urselfz:
clear for life
what u think ppl?

Well, I'm going to hold off on the sweeping, definitive statements, because I haven't been alive for hundreds of years.
I will say that I've tried multiple diet changes, and not a single detox or cutting out of anything has made a difference in my skin. It's not food for me. It's genes. It runs in the family.
BUT, for some people, changing their diet has helped. Just like how for some people, it hasn't done anything.
So my guess is - and I'm just guessing here - that EVERYONE'S SKIN BEHAVES DIFFERENTLY. It wouldn't surprise me if that were the case in history, either.
