I had 2 sessions of laser genesis done and was supposed to have 1 more but I decided to stop, because the skin area around the hyperpigmentation where the laser went started turning darkish brown. I am liking the improvement of texture but I hate the color changes so far.

I am white, and very fair skinned. I am wondering if this is common, and if it is, how long before the dark brown patch where they lasered me settles down and my normal skin color returns?

Is the dark brown permanent? Or is it a form of hyperpigmentation that will fade on its own? Its been 2 weeks since I had the second session of laser treatment. Its not terribly noticeable but under certain lights, you can definetely see it. Thanks! Please reply.

HI THERE!!!! erm...i got the same prob too!!! i did mosaic lasering and i have this dark brown patch!!! its been llike1 mth and its still the same!!! Anyway, hows ur skin now?? has it recovered already?

Just curious to know if this ever faded. I'm debating to go for it.
My skin is very different from yours (Fitzpatrick scale type IV or V) but still want to know if there is a chance of hyperpigmentation or any other permanent type of damage. Any help would be great!

i had one treatment of genesis and it i didn't get anything like that. i am also fair skinned. did the problem occur after the first treatment? do you wear sunscreen? do you spend a lot of time outside? the laser makes your skin sun sensitive, you should always wear sunscreen. i would recommend zinc oxide. how did you feel during the procedure? did it burn? i think it's supposed to make your skin feel warm, but when it starts to burn i think you should say something.
