Hi :]

I finally decided to join after snooping around for a while due to not being able to find an answer for my current problem ...

I've been on the regimen for one and a half years now, and i've only ever got as good as 75% clear, and recently my face has started to get worse.

I've completely changed my diet, getting rid of fatty foods, fried food, anything i think would trigger my acne.

I'm 18 years old and i think i have hormonal acne, which might be why the regimen won't work?

I use Goat's milk soap as it is PH neutral and doesn't dry the skin out, 2.5% water based peroxide ("BENZAC AC") and 'Cetaphil' moisturizer: recommended by the local chemist.

I've had acne since i was 13; whiteheads and occasional cystic acne and i'm starting to wonder if it really will end.

I know this is a lot but if anyone would just like to reply hi :] or offer any advice, it would be very, very much appreciated.

hi charlie T

This is wierd, my name is also Charlie T .....

anyway I thought I would respond to you as you are new and deserve as much smile.gif eusa_dance.gif

I cant tell now I am responding but are you male or female? where are you from?

have you checked "common mistakes" on the regime?

have you tried cutting out refined sugar?

looked into natural ways to balance out hormones?

you you tried a non-comedogenic wash for your skin?

seen a dermatologist or gp about it regarding oral treatments alongside the regime?

welcome to the site by the way, I too have had acne since I was 13 and I am now 25 - I am not saying this to scare you, the best and worst part of acne is that everyone is different, Different, predispositions, causes, triggers and reactions to treatment.

Most people do grow out of teenage acne but for those that dont there are many treatment options and also this site which offers a place to share and vent with people who understand... which is nice.

good luck amused.gif

Hi

The first thing I would do is to make sure you are really following the regime precisely, because its really easy to think your are when you're not. Watch Dans videos several times, and be really precise in applying it.

Secondly, I would recomend you switch products, try Dan's starter kit so you can be sure you are useing the correct products. I have never heard of goats milk saop before - does it actually come from goats milk ? If so probably best avoided re the alledged link between diary and acne. The water based Benzoyl Peroxide might not be sufficient for 100% clearance which is why you are only getting 75%.

I would also try a zinc supplement, no more than 50mg a day, zinc is anti-inflamitory so may help.

Good Luck!

I'm not sure that the dairy and acne link relates to applying the milk onto the skin, I think everything I have read indicates people being sensitive to it in their diets. This being said I still think it is questionable as to whether goats milk in this wash is non-comodogenic. when it comes to washing and makeup I would always assume it will be comodogenic (spot causing) unless it says otherwize as they are hardly going to advertise it as comodogenic eusa_doh.gif i.e coco butter is very nice but is definately comodogenic

i use PURE soap but there are other bars and washes tested as non-comodogenic.

Its easy to imagine a dairy based body product leaving a residue on skin which may block your pores up.

another good reason to washa and condition your hair first then body wash second....

Thanks for replying smile.gif

I'm a male and I live in Sydney. (It's currently quite hot :[ )

I barely eat food with refined sugar in it but i'm not sure of any natural ways to balance my hormones.

I did try a non-comedogenic wash but weirdly, the goat's milk soap worked better.

I've only seen a dermatologist once and he said it would be gone soon (that time has passed).

Thanks chrichel, I watched through dan's video's again. I do believe it may be the products I'm using so I may need to order his.

Thank you so much guys ^^

well good luck to you, I would say if the time has passed I would go see the dermatologist again. if it warrented one visit then it warrents another if they were wrong (the time has passed and it seems they were... wrong...)

I always try to remember;

I don't think acne is one condition, its a symptom so dont give up and keep trying
the nice thing is as a male your acne shoud be more stable so you can trust your self-experimentation more than us girls who fluctuate like mad.
