My name is Khatol and I've had acne since I was 16. I started with Proactive (at 19), worked Great! I had clear skin or two years. I always had hair on my face so I started waxing/or threading. I've been breaking out like crazy! The Proactive is not working at all. I've started on Kate Somerville's product On the 9!, its been 3 weeks of no waxing or threading, I'm going in for threading on Tuesday(hope i Don't breakout)

Can someone explain why I am breaking out when I get threading done?

irritation/ingrown hairs. exfoliate that day before you go, and go right home and use a plain lotion rather than theirs.

Hey Khatol Jaan.

I also thread as well and I agree, it makes me break out as well. Do you thread your whole face (forehead, chin, sides of face, etc) or just your eyebrows?

I do just eyebrows but I always break out afterwards as well. I usually use an astirgent (Neutrogena pore -- something) then apply my moisturizer which is for acne-prone skin (clean-and-clear cream) and let it sink in before I go in.

I usually leave with bumps and scars (if she's really rough, lol) when I'm done but afterwards, I immediately use my astringent over my eyebrows where she threaded (it burns like hell) and put my emergency spot treatment over it (which irritates at first but it cools down) and it's prevented me from breaking out so far. I just think cuz the oils from her hands from resting her hands on my face are what's breaking me out.

hope this helped.
