Now I know this is not recommended but what are peoples thoughts on this?

I'm very tempted to just wash my face with water for the day time and apply BP for night time application, the things I dislike about applying BP during the day =

- Redness at times
- Flaking if I accidentally brush my face on something
- Face looks oilier because of moisturizer
- If it rains/ I sweat sometimes its evident I have BP/moisturizer on
- Have to wake up 2 hours before i leave the house to make sure redness has subsided
- Staying over someones house (I can get away with sneaking into the bathroom at night and applying BP but in the morning it's a whole different story...)

I know it's not the way the regimen is meant to work but It would be a lot easier...

Opinions?

It's generally not recommended, but it's been done.

My kid sister only did The Regimen at night for the first several months she was on it, because she didn't like the way the Neutrogena On The Spot made her face look while she was at school. She did clear up quite a bit, but it took a while, and she didn't clear completely.

For people that are just starting The Regimen, I'd recommend following the instructions precisely. If you've been on The Regimen for a while, though, and you're staying pretty consistently clear, it's alright to slowly adjust how much BP you use and how often you use it. Just take it slowly. Decrease the amount of BP you're using gradually (like how you increased it in the beginning, only in reverse). Give your skin time after each small decrease, and see how it responds. That way, you'll be able to figure out what the minimum amount of BP is that you need in order to stay clear.

I, personally, can get away with using half a pump once a day, and I'm able to stay clear. There are people, though, that need the full two pumps twice a day. You just have to find what's right for you.

Well thanks for the reply!

I never have more than 3 active spots so my acne is mild but it's so persistent.

I think dairy has an effect on me but I love my cups of tea sad.gif

I've been on the regimen for a while now but i'll give it a couple of weeks more before i consider only doing it once a day smile.gif

You're welcome, and I hope The Regimen does it for ya. I've been on it for five hundred and twenty two days now, and I love it. : D

I think I've had a new train of thought.

Giving up dairy and doing the regimen only at night.

Dairy seems to break me out sad.gif I can name exactly every cyst/ bad spot I've had recently and nail it down to the food, i.e

Ben and Jerrys = Awful Cyst next day
Mash potatoe= Awful cyst next day
Chocolate= Horrid spot next day
Bag of maltesers = Horrid spot next day

I think if i only apply BP at night and stop dairy I might be able to get things under control. The thing is though dairy = my fave food ever. I love cups of tea, love yogurt, love custard, love ice-cream etc but if its clear skin or food , clean skin wins every time. Another problem here is when i give up dairy I get very very thin.

The annoying thing is I was just getting clear and I started testing out tea again with some chocolate cookies and i got a horrible blind spot on my nose and work tomorrow, yay!... I'll stick with day and night application for the next week or so and then only use at night once I've been off dairy again for a week

I only use the regimen at night, then just wash in the morning. And I never use moisturizer, but my face is accustomed to the BP so within minutes of applying it, you can't even tell it's there. This keeps everything mostly under control, that's all that matters to me. I started using the regimen twice a day like suggested, and it got me completely clear, but a few minor zits don't bother me so I'd rather just use it once a day. If I use it any less than once a day however, I start to get nasty ones developing regularly.

I was on the regimen for 6 months. Cleared me up. But by the 6th month all the sudden my face was getting burnt. I decided to stop and use other products some acne came back. Ive been off it for about 3 weeks, and tonight im restarting.

Before stopping it to prevent burning, I shouldve only used it at night. If my face clears up again, but begins to burn, I think I will turn to the nighttime routine instead of stopping all together.
