Day 9

I am going to quickly sum up today's progress because I am absolutely swamped with work. ugh

so speaking of work and lack of sleep: it is definitely starting to show on my face.

though it is still not as bumpy as it was before, I could see a few red spots coming out from my cheeks and on my forehead. I can't help it...because I have so much to do before next wednesday..i will just have to do major damage control next week.

I am not as oily as I was before, and I am trying to find a face wash that's not going to irritate my skin and cleans well. if you know of one that you are currently using: reply to this and let me know! my biggest concerns are oily skin and whiteheads...if you have the same problem..PERFECT for me if whatever you've been using is helping your skin to look beautiful and smooth. so holla at me.

Anyways, even though I have so much to do...I love writing in this journal entry. It helps me to sort out my thoughts that I have accumulated throughout the day--

whenever I see a girl or a guy with moderate to severe acne on campus, I just want to stop them while they are walking and tell them to get on ACNE.ORG...

I have been taking pictures of my skin...and it showed a lot of improvements so far!

Day 10!
I am not happy with my progress. ugh. sad.gif

well, I have a zit that's the size of my head that came out a few days ago, I kept on trying to pop it, but it is so damn painful, and I could never completely pop it. I DON"T know what to do.

I see pimples coming out on the size of my left cheek--that's where a lot of whiteheads are, but whiteheads aren't as bad as it was before.

I washed my face with one wash day and night, so I will see how this goes for me. it is the Bare mineral powder cleanser. it is so gentle...nothing could be more gentle than that..

I am going to run tomorrow morning and just forget all those stressful events in my life.

Somewhere around Day 12

I just came back from running and this had occurred to me while working out: I eat right (very healthy diet through the day: plenty of fruit, grains, vegies, proteins, and some diary & I drink so much water! ) I exercise almost three times a week (not counting I walk at least one -two miles each day on campus)

My frustration is: why in the freaking world am I getting those whiteheads???? why!

BP helped with some obvious pimples and redness. but I still see whiteheads deeply implanted in my pores....I don't think this regime is going to help..apparently Dan's regime only really works for ppl with acne (pimples, cystic, etc), but not so much for comedones.

I am still trying, and hoping it will work.
I hope my skin will eventually clear up in the near future.

Don't get discouraged! I started this regimen about 1 month ago, and about 10 days in I felt exactly like you did! I was so frustrated because when I thought my skin was looking better, it began to get a little worse. Remember, your skin is still becoming used to using BP on a regular basis and its bringing everything to the surface.

I also have oily skin. I am using Purpose Gentle Cleansing wash and I like it. After I moisturize my face will still get a little oily after a few hours, but oil-blotting paper works great! About a week ago I started taking a multivitamin and fish oil everyday. Multivitamins are obviously good for your body (skin included) and on the fish oil container it says it improves skin health...so I'm very hopeful that I will soon see results from taking them. Something else to think about trying perhaps?

Day 16

I haven't been tracking my progress for the past four days or so, but I haven't really notice any changes yet.

The past few days have been really hectic. I have been staying up until really late to finish works, and I think it has taken a toll on my skin's health. I could see a bit more inflammations and a few pimples have came out.

The whiteheads around my lower jaw are basically gone. My skin does feel a lot smoother than when I first started this regime. However, the whiteheads on my forehead are really hard to treat, and I haven't seen a dramatic change.

I am also changing my night cream to an oil free cream. I want to stop using BE purely nourishing moisturizer (I am so sad because I just bought a new bottle that I can't return, I might have to sell it off on ebay now).

I have however, put a clay mask on earlier today. this is the ONLY added treatment since I've started this regime. My skin clears up a little whenver I use the Cosmedix clay mask. It is an amazing clarifying mask!

Okay, back to work!

Hey! Thanks for your words of encouragement. I feel a lot better now.
I do take multivitamins everyday.

OH what moisturizer do you use? I have been looking for a good moisturizer for oily skin. Could you recommend one?

The BP hasn't worked negatively on my skin, it has helped, but I just get really sad when I see that it might not help with whiteheads.

Anyways, keep me posted.

Day 26!

wow, it has been a while since I posted my last update. I guess I was trying to avoiding talking about my progress because it has been minimum for the past 10 days.

I have added a new step to my regime, and that is to add jojoba oil to my moisturizer for day and night. it has helped with the oiliness...so strange how oil could defeat oiliness skin. I have also been researching on the proper diet, cleanser, and other items that I could avoid for future references.

My acne is purely hormonal and not hereditary. One of many things that I realized since I have been on this regime and talking with people that have been through similar crisis on acne.org is that keep the cleansing process light and stop exfoliating and trying to strip every single possible oil away from your skin. I was so horrible to my skin a month ago-- I was scrubbing with apricot scrub every night because I thought I could get rid of whiteheads by frequent exfoliation, but I was so wrong because my skin broke out more and more each time. right now, the whiteheads have been successfully suppressed by BP and a light cleanser. But I could still trace some whiteheads around my face when I wash. I think the ONLY way to completely be acne free is not by using dan's regime--it is to find the right lifestyle that will cater to my health.

I should not have acne. It is not in my genes! I don't know anyone in my family that had adult acne, NO ONE. So this is the exception, definitely not a rule. I am hoping with further researching on a healthy lifestyle where I could cope with stress and other acne trigger factors easily so I could prevent this on going crisis.

I am tired of popping pimples every night.

I might try to incorporate a Oil Method Cleanser soon (with castor oil and jojoba), I am also thinking of stop using the BP because it prolongs red marks on my face and it hasn't helped much with getting rid of whiteheads completely. I don't have sever acne, I have light acne, but severely haunted by whiteheads....right now, it is almost invisible but it is still not smooth when I wash my face.

I have also started to take a supplement that is supposed to help with controlling oiliness of my skin.

Anyways, if all those red marks will be gone, then I could look as if I have a clear complexion.

Also, for anyone that's interested in a good facial cleanser, try a clay based cleanser. it is better than the soapy over the counter cleanser people are addicted to.

it detox your skin and draws all the impurities out and do not strip all the good oil away.

I am interested in trying a bentonite clay wash right now, you could find it at local vitamin shoppe. bentonite could be taken internally ( must take with psyllium husk ) or externally as a mask. it is so effective. The reason why I decided to have another post about this clay cleanser method is because I have a "magic " mask that I use once a week...it is called clear by cosmedix. It contains bentonite and tea tree oil.. Every time I use this mask, my skin would be perfectly clean and almost acne free...because it is so effectively, I decided to add to my cleanser at night.

IT IS THE BEST MASK anyone could ask for. try it!

Also, try a veggie smoothie ( I wish I could find the thread on acne.org for receipts ) It definitely makes you more energetic and cleans out your colon...trust me!! (yes, it is blended with leafy greens like spinach or any salad mixture greens that you could find at grocery stores, put two cups in with any fruit you would like. for sever acne skin use less sweet fruits)

I have switched to a new plan! NO more BP.

for anyone who is interested: my new blog is : http://www.acne.org/messageboard/Healthy-l...ga-t254516.html

BP helped with redness but also aggravated my skin that made me break out every day too. I want to show you the picture when I first started BP, I was so depressed that day because my skin got worse within two days of wearing BareMineral powder foundation. (I had to return it.)

First day of BP
