Sorry if I wrote wrong, but she told me not to fill the prescription if I did not like the Retin-A. I am going to lie tomorrow (I know, I'm terrible evil.gif ) and say that I had a bad reaction so then I can get a visit soon. Then, I am going to go along with Accutane smile.gif. Great plan lol

By the way, she gave me samples of it. TONS sad.gif

Hopefully! I also told her I was allergic to BP (another lie, hehe) so that she could not try to give me crap and that antibiotics made me sick. To sum it up, I basically am forcing her to put me on Accutane and she is going along with it so hopefully tomorrow or whenever the next visit is I can get my Accutane and start a log biggrin.gif

Oh yeah, one more thing. My new dermatologist is great! She talks to me and makes me feel really comfortable y'know?

Yeah.

I dont have to lie to my derm, I have had it for 3 years and he knows I have tried everything, on the form of "what past products have you used to treat this condition" I filled up ALL the lines xD

He offered me antibiotics and vitamin A cream or tane, I took tane xD

So weird. Are dermatologists pre-programmed to prescribe a vitamin A based cream and antibiotics or what haha

Nah my derm sat me down and said there are two roads we could take, which would I like.
I said oratane, he printed me out the script that day, and also put me on erythromycin for 3 months (also going on prednisone, a skin steroid for 10 days) to try keep down the big IB from the oratane.

It's probably not even a lie to say you had a bad reaction to Retin-a. Most people have horrific initial breakouts (read the reviews on this site for Retin-a). I had a terrible reaction to it... I think you would be best not to put that stuff on your face.

Haha I didn't! I threw the samples in the trash but the problem is that I am going to my appointment is in two days, not enough time for an initial breakout so I gotta make something up or I'll just say that I really want Accutane and that's it.

Say you experienced a burning sensation the minute you put it on your skin so you washed it off, then you took a benadryl which is why your face isn't red now.

Also when telling lies, look between the person's eyes if you can't look dirently into them and keep your hands in your pockets to avoid telltale fidgeting. wink.gif

Thanks for the extra advice biggrin.gif I feel terrible doing this but my will for Accutane is too big! Also, my appointment got pushed back until Monday. I am going to say the burning sensation, my sister had a bad reaction, and it made my skin rough for two days even though I only used a pea sized amount. Sounds good? Lol

I feel for ya.

My derm put me through a year of antibiotics and creams before I went on Accutane. To be honest though, I never brought up accutane until she wouldn't let me continue on bactrim (which was the only antibiotic to clear me up).

Oh, first thing I told my doc was that I don't want antibiotics because of resistance and she listened biggrin.gif

i got accutane by making my acne worse. IT was always bad buy not to that point where i would get accutane. In my 3rd week now and lips are so dry they are falling off. Didnt have it get worse then better it just started clearing up from day one. I can already see the difference.

I was worried I wouldnt get prescribed tane.
I am not like those people with one big pimple that covers their whole face, just like one big evelated scabby mess everywhere. I was worried you had to be like that for tane.

So I was very ready, if I didn't get prescribed it, to let down my good diet. My face was actually lookin pretty darn good compared to week before when I went to my derm, but he still felt for me xD
