Right I have these persistant red marks that cover all of my cheeks, they have been there since I got off Roactatane back in June 2008.

I have tried nearly everything apart from Retin-A (I know I should try that, but I wont be able to take another major breakout, which happens in most cases), well anyways my mum is a beauty specialist and shes being giving me peels over the years etc.

Atm my mum has the Crystal Clear machine, which is the same as Microdermobrasion, so my question is does is get rid of the red marks (especially when flushing:().

1: I know that it leaves your face red for a couple of days, but helps it in the long run since it takes the top layers of your skin off.

2: How long about does your skin take to heal back to the way it was/or better than it was?

Thx 4 reading,

Hi,

k well first off idk what kind of scarring you have...but if you have deep indented scars, like pock marks, craters or icepick scars, the microdermabrasion will not do anything for you....in that case you will need something alot stronger like profraxel or something, look it up...

But if you have just good old red-marks (hyperpigmentation) than microdermabrasion will work only if paired with the right products...

I tons of hyperpigmentation, I became clear quite quickly from tazorac but it wasnt doing jack for the red marks. I had 6 microdermabrasion appointments spanned out every 10-12 days. After the microderm treatment itself, the technician usually puts on a moisturizing mask followed by a good moisturizer. Well, I let her put on the mosisturizing mask, but brought my own "treatment moisturizer" to my appointments.... I've been using MELA-D by LaROche Posay and its active ingredient is kojic acid. It didnt work so great on its own, but I used it everday (2 X a day) and I SLATHERED it on my face after microderm......and it has worked! Honestly, I saw results 3 days after my first treatment with faded marks. After 6, my face is freaking gorgeous!!!!! Im so happy because to be honest my acne was never really THAT bad, but my skin was sooo prone to hyperpigmentation that my face just looked soo much worse than it was.

Anyways hope this helps......

oh and in terms of flushing? what kinda flushng u talking about....like rosacea or like "im embarassed"? Either way micro wont do anything for those two things.

Also, there is no down time after micro...its similar to getting a peel...your red for a few hours...rest of the evening, wake up the next day and ur fine...

Hi,

Ive had my 1st session with the crystal clear, and is now day 3 after it and me skin is still red of it, not as much as it was staright after using it. sad.gif

Im gona use it again tommorow, and again on Friday. (or wait till Friday?)

Whats weird is that my skin has some red marks, small but defo there, also there is some small black marks Ill post some pics later showing what I mean....

To be honest mate, Im not really that bothered about the scars, I do have some pitted ones, some ice-picking but Im more concerned to get this horrible red skin away first.
