I voted option 3 but it does always get worse with my cycle. Oddly it seems to peak around the time of ovulation. But I am broken out pretty much constantly so saying my acne is just hormonal doesn't seem to cut it. And it's mostly on my cheeks, but my chin and jawline are often invited to the party.

Option 1, I break out around jawline/upper neck since I was 37. I dont understand what is happening. Niacin has gotten rid of it.

I'm 28 and it's the same for me here exactly like you described!
I'm also currently recovering from an outbreak I got after stopping Yasmin (the pill didn't help much to begin with, but after I stopped I seemed to breakout badly even in places where I hardly got any acne before, like my neck and forehead. Thank God it's slowing down a bit now...)

As Iusedtobebloodcries mentioned, Accutane and vitamin A are NOT the same thing. Accutane is a derivative of vitamin A which means it contains essential elements, but not the whole form of the vitamin. The four major adverse effects of toying around with taking too much vitamin A are birth defects, liver abnormalities, reduced bone mineral density that may result in osteoporosis, and central nervous system disorders. Although Accutane comes with its host of risks, you are taking the same risks if not more by overdosing your body on vitamin A while not being monitored by a doctor.

Topic closed. Self medicating is not condoned. It's dangerous.

First Of All let me just say this- I have tried EVERYTHING including Doxcyclone, Tetracyclone, Dorx, but my Derm. does NOT prescribe accutane. I started taking 32,000 IU of Vitamin A and my skin is now Crystal Clear. I could not believe this and I stopped taking it briefly & I broke out again. After that I continued it and my face is perfect now. I think accutane is a SCAM it is to much Synthetic Vitamin A, and has way 2 many side effects. Natural Vitamin A is cheap and works.

Most people saying Vitamin A is harmful are probably ignorant or are working for Hoffman-LaRoche- The makers of Accutane go to and read the TRUTH! We need to stop making these people richer while our bodies are suffering

Hi there! I just started taking Spiro nearly to weeks ago, and I am hopeful it will work for me.. But I was wondering after looking as some of these posts, do the vitamins you use really help that much!!?? Vitamin A seems to be important.. and what about any others? I have Cod Liver pills but I haven't seen much of a difference with them. And what is the best Vitamin A supplement out there if it really is an important supplement to take?

Any advice would be great!

Thanks!

Hi everyone!
Just joined this forum and I voted for #2. I'm 26 and I do feel like I had combo skin- my cheeks tend to be drier whereas my forehead, nose tend to be oilier. I used to have acne during my teenage years and then it went away when I was 17 to about 23 ( I wasnt on the pill or anything, it just went away!) and it came back with vengence when I was 24 . I thought it was the stress of studying/working but now I think it might be hormonal. My sister has the same thing too and she's 34. Thing i hate most is that it is popping at places I never had..like jawline and cheeks and chin and leaving dark/red marks/scars!

I don't know which one to pick. I have normal/dry skin and my acne used to be on my chin, jawline and cheeks. My outbreaks would be worse during my menstrual, but I could breakout pretty much anytime.
