Here's the skinny... I am 24 years old, from Hawaii, but have lived in HOT Texas for the past 6 years. I have always had acne, but it didn't get really bad until moving to Texas. While in high school I had the occasional break out, but now it's almost a weekly thing. I have tried it all; Acne statin, proactiv, differin, and minotricyclin, all to no avail. Proactiv seemed to be working, but never cleared completely, and then it stopped working completely. AHHHH!
So I started the DKR 6 days ago. Experiencing dryness, but bought jojoba oil to combat that. My face is breaking out more than usual. I am using cetaphil wash, DKR BP, netrogena oil free moisturizer and aha. I know I shouldn't be using this yet, but I can't help it... I'm guilty as charged. I don't think that it will hinder my progress but if it will, please someone let me know!
So I tried the jojoba oil tonight and I was shocked. There were little skin balls all over my face. It was gross. This flaky skin is crazy.
Anyway, hope it all gets better.

Okay so the jojoba oil has done wonders! The weather is cooling here in Texas, and we are experiencing some rain. Anyway, I still have a little flaking, but nothing compared to a couple of days ago. It was so horrible, makeup was not helping, and I hated being within arms reach of people. I think I even got a couple of strange looks... Anyway, I had classes today and thank god my skin is doing better, flaky-wise. Although I did notice a few flakes fall when I scratched my face. YUCK! But it looks like I am staring to get used to the BP. I think I will up my dose.
I have also noticed that the new pimples that started to form about 2 days ago, are beginning to heal and disappear, except for these really pesky ones on the side of my nose, and in between my eyes. But even so, I think they are a lot smaller than usual (maybe this is just wishful thinking). I did get one new one on the outside of my right eye. I'm sure there will be more to come before this whole thing gets sorted out. Whatever is happening, I am in no particular rush. I mean, when you have been dealing with acne for so long, what's a couple more days/weeks/months?
