Hey I've been on accutane for about a month now and I started on 40mg a day I went back to my derm his pretty old and a bit out of it and he just said stay on the same dosage. He only has me on a 3 month course but my acne is still terrible at the moment and I'm wondering if this dose is to low for me I weight 82kg with 8% body fat so I'm pretty sure I should be on a higher dosage eventually and a longer course then 40mg for 3 months?

Just asking here a fair few people are in the know, Just to add only side effects I get at all are cracked lips.

Thanks in advance!

So just as accutane was starting to work 2.5 months in and clear up my skin my derm decides to take me off it (great) and puts me on a topical cream Stieva-A, 0.1% Tretinoin. Really really angry I told him I wanted to stay on it for longer and he just wouldn't listen to me I've been on Tretinoin 0.05% before for like 4 months and it did _nothing_. This is extremely frustrating I just want my acne gone!!!!!!!!! Why are dermatologists so fking hard to get in to see I looked at going to a different one to get accutane again and its a 6 month waiting list so I'm pretty much stuck with this shit for another half a year on top of 5 years...

do yourself a favor .. go get a new dermatologist. I'm not saying that because, from what you have posted, I think he is a shitty derm and that you should be on a higher mg/longer course, but because he doesn't listen to you. If you ever go to a Dr who won't give you the time of day or at least listen to what YOU want to do.. tell him to go fuck himself.

Agreed! He should not have taken you off accutane- that was far too short of a course. Find a better dr. who has experience with accutane.
