Below are photos of my skin right after rolling and the rolling day. I am sorry btu I am not going to post full face photos fo myself on the internet and have posted these to give you an idea of what my scars are like.

I didn't take photos before the rolling because i didn't expect it to work but will take pictures in 6 months time to show progress.

If you feel that no full face pics is a cop out and a con then I am sorry, you either believe that I have had improvement or you don't.

My scarring is not just a load of ice picks, I only have a few rolling scars and the rolling seemed to work well on these as well but the ice picks had the most dramatic improvement.

Hi Greg

thanks for posting those pics!!
and no, no one should EXPECT you to post full face pics of you! You r kind enough to post these for us, which you really didn't even have to do.

One question for you, and somethingI am concerned about as far as dermarolling goes, although I am prolly going to purchase the dermastamp.

***When rolling I have noticed that at times it seems to make some holes, not many but they kind of look like scarred pores. It may be that these are small scars that are just remodelling, I am not sure and will update you but this is even more reason to be careful!!****

Have you noticed that these have filled in? this is what worries me. is if you make these kinds of holes in your skin, and then they do not heal up?? That is what is delaying my decision to dermaroll at all, then again, my skin on face seems to heal up best from any kind of injury.

What do you think?

Again thanks for being kind enough to share with us, your progress, and for being so honest and upfront about the results you are getting!!!

Honey

I understand your concerns and this is something that I don't take lightly as I certainly don't want to cause damage. When I did my first roll I notices that I had a few tiny holes - more like tiny cuts on my temples and was concerned but these filled in and are now completely gone.

The previous 2 rolls I saw a few very small holes on each cheek, like large pores appear, not in a cluster but the thing is I am not 100% sure if they were there before. My skin is going through a real change at the moment and more pores have increased in size this past year as my acne has begun to clear up, haven't has cysts for years but I had clogged pores, blackheads, white heads and the occasional spot.

I suspect that the holes that I am seeing are probably small scars that are remodelling or perhaps a result of my skin simply ageing.

For me personally the gains that I have seen in terms of horrible obvious scars lessening outweigh my concerns about the occasional tiny scars at the moment and like I said I am not sure yet what is the cause. I will of course keep you updated in time.

I would be curious to hear how other people who have rolled a number of times feel about hwo it is affecting their overall skin complex? Do people feel that even aside from the scar improvements that their skin is looking better then it has in years?

It is difficult for me to tell to an extent because my skin is changing like I said and to be honest I reckon this (the pores) would have happened anyway as my dad (who never had bad acne) has large pores.

Others do please get in touch as I could also do with advice and assistance myself.

Thanks Greg!

How long has it been since you 'discovered' these holes?
I would think that they will heal up. R U using any good creams to help with the remodelling?

also r u taking high doses of vitamin C (ultra important!) and also zinc, I hear is good.

Have u considered taking a collagen powder as well?

IYHO, do u think we would get similar results, if we dermarolled LESS aggressive, but more often???

Thanks

Honey

Hey guys/gals my good skin and scars have improved a lot from dermarolling without a doubt.I'm 41 and my skin looks better than my 20's for real!!!.I never got little holes from dermarolling. But like clock work it starts to look better 3 weeks after a rolling session.Texture and complextion has all improved.I was never consistent with the dermaroller until my last 4 rolls every 6 weeks.I was too convinced it sounded too easy to true....but it is.I was under the impression if it did'nt cost a lot of money, its not gonna work.I was wrong.I do also use fillers for volume and saline for additional help and a collagen drink by "Thedoctorwithin.com" awesome stuff. The way i look at it is if you were to get 5% improvement every 6 weeks from dermarolling and theres 52 weeks in a year, that is 8.66 or just say 9 rolls x 5% =45% improvement in one years time...not bad.But i've gotten 15% better per roll since i started.

But how much of it is the dermarolling and how much of it is from the fillers for volume, and collagen you take? I'm not knocking dermarolling- I know it works, but I'm just curious as to how one would know which treatment is causing the real benefits. In other words, what do you think you're skin would look like with just dermarolling?

Good question,as i quoted in earlier posts i said it was a combo effort. But i would give dermarolling the lead.Sculptra defintely was monumental for me as to lay down a good foundation of collagen to feed off of.Dermarolling by itself would still give me the complextion, sculptra added volume for a more shapely face and the collagen needed for repair.

so u think that the collagen has made a big difference in your collagen remodellling with the dermarollign?

thats what i intend to do when i dermaroll. vit c, zinc, terproline (i.e. lamaar), baby qasar (led light) and definitely collagen. I think this is a winning combination.
u r giving your body all the necessary nutrients to heal the skin optiminally.

I think the collagen has been a big help,i'm a bodybuilder too,so i diet up and down and when i diet down,i see more of the scars...but not since i been taking the collagen.I've taken every supplement under the sky and the collagen i take from the doctor within.com is more expensive, but i see a bigger difference.I know its the quality of the supplement and the way its processed.

I saw them almost pretty much right away as soon as I rolled, still unsure whether I missed them before or if they are remodelling scars etc.. so will keep a close eye when i roll nest in December.

As for how aggressive to roll, I would be completely lying if I said I was sure on this and wouldn't feel right even making a suggestion as I am very limited in my knowledge. I am just not sure if you would get the same results but just a little slower if you rolled lightly, I would imagine so though as it is my belief that the rolling really is breaking up the scar tissue and so rolling very lightly may not work. Don't get me wrong i am not really, really aggressive when I roll and I try to keep a level head and take acer when I roll but I do draw specks of blood, not all over and nothing mad though.

Unless you go to a specialist you are taking a chance, in fact even if you go to a specialist you are taking a chance. For me personally, like I said so far the pros outweigh the cons - if that changes I will stop rolling.

Am taking Vit C and so on as you mentioned but unless you break the scar tissue up then it won't go away, might heal very slightly over a long period of time but scar tissue doesn't just disappear unfortunately which is why the dermaroller is a must for me at the moment.

Thanks to the others who have posted and let's keep this going, There are a lot of people here who could do with a bit of help or just a nod of support.

How long ago did u roll when they first appeared?

and have they changed at all?

this is what worries me with rolling and do you think that you would have had this happen, if you had used a dermaroller, rather than a dermastamp?

maybe a dermastamp is more aggressive than a dermaroller?
dont know, just brainstorming here. smile.gif

haven't tried dermastamp and not really interested as I am happy with the rolling so far.

haven't used LED treatment, haven't heard many people say much to back it up - those who have used it tend to use it with rolling and I don't really get how they can be soooo sure that it is working. I am having good improvements and I don't knwo if it's all the roller, a bit of the roller and the topicals, more of the topicals and not so much of the roller, the roller and a better diet... People sometimes get ahead of themselves and declare that something is 100% doing teh job when the reality is that you would have to put each routine through a test of some sort, dropping things in and taking them out over time to establish what does and doesn't work.

To be honest It think you need to make a decision as to whether you want to try rolling or not. I am a male, we are not related, we probably live in different parts of the world - your skin will never react in exactly the same way as mine and so it is only in trying it out, maybe with shorter needles that you will be able to make a real decision as to what to do.

Hi Greg09,
I suppose you buy your dr roller online?
So did you use their Meso Cell Lift-up kit and Lidocaine HCL 15% numbing solution?
I juz found out that Dr. Roller is made in Korea

Thanks Greg!

I am definitely goign to either try the dermarolling or the dermastamp! jsut gotta get enough money together, as I am going to order the baby qasar (expensive 400 dollars) and the dermaroller (can't remember how much that is) and also the terproline, which I hear has just gone up in price! Oh boy!! smile.gif

which creams are you using to help heal up your skin and do u have an opinion on the terproline?

Warm Regards,

Honey

I think that the people who sell terproline are completely taking the piss with their pricing and am now using Bio Oil and so far so good. I was using the professional strength Terproline but the Bio Oil seems to be working just as well and is a fraction of the price.

It would take terproline to be sold for a quarter of its current price for me to consider using it again and based on the company's greed (in my opinion) I won't be using their products again.

Bio Oil's only down side is that is fragranced and usually I avoid products that are fragranced but I have had no adverse reactions and am very happy with its effect on my skin.

I had my first dermaroller treatment 3 weeks ago and have really noticed a difference in my scars already.

I was really red straight afterwards, but it settled OK after a week and people are now saying that I look really well! It was expensive (£250) but worth it, i think!!! Not sure I'd use the roller myself as it looked a bit scary...

guys please help me with this. i'm asking all over the board and no one answers me

fist of all: im really happy for all you guys rolling and seeing improvements, congrats smile.gif

i think we all owe a little bit to lamarr as he popularized dermoriling here (as far as I know)

so here's my question:

Do you guys use any Topical with dermaroling (ie Retin-A)

If so, wich one ? How long between rolling and applying topical ?

Much appreciate who helps me here

ktnks

I currently use Bio Oil and I use right after rolling (and a quick cleanse of course) then just continue using it morning and night.

I previously used terproline but it as much too expensive and the Bio Oil seems to be just as good a job.

The Bio Oil has caused me no side effects at all but just make sure to test a small patch of your skin before you put anything all over your face.
