It is 4 weeks since my 2nd roll and I am 100% sure that I have had improvement in a number of scars, both ice pick and rolling. I am not going to post up too much about this until I have done 4 treatments as I don't want to get people's hopes up without being sure that all is good but I swear to you that it has already worked for me and I am hopeful that by the end of the year I will have gotten rid of a lot of my scars!!
My issue at the moment is that I can still see very sightly the area where I rolled as a very, very slightly different shade - like a very, very, very mild tan. Absolutely no one else can notice it and I only see it when I am literally a few inches from the mirror but has anyone else noticed this or that when they wash they can see the area where they rolled as being a very slight red colour for a few seconds?
My skin isn't irritable at all and in a way it is good I suppose to see that underneath my skin something is still happening - hopefully collagen production!! Like I said it has been 4 weeks sicen my second roll and I will be rolling again in another 2 weeks, I just don't want to give myself some sort of bizarre permanent tan that stops at my eye sockets... lol...
On a final note, chin up people as I have definitely had very good results and I am not bullshitting or imagining it - just be careful as rolling is a serious procedure and shouldn't be treated as some minor ritual!
Good luck!
where abouts are you scars ?

Nice one, well done and thanks for posting, it's always good to hear people's success stories as it helps out the others struggling with this.

I haven't noticed any improvement to my large pore size which is disappointing though.
Thanks again.

I purchased a set from the website mentioned today, and it only cost $156, a fraction of almost any treatment I have done. Anyway, I can't wait when it arrives in two weeks. Seems I don't need to spend any money for these freaking scars for a good 8-9 months!
My only question here is: if I do it on a Friday night, when will I be able to go out comfortably without attracting too much attention? I work so I need to plan in advance.
Thanks again for all the valuable information. This is sort of a light of hope after all the frustration. Plus, it is really cheap.

Good luck.
PS - ANYONE HAD ANY SUCCESS WITH ROLLING ON THE NOSE? THIS IS MY ACHILLES HEEL AT THE MOMENT AND IT IS GETTING ME DOWN THAT THE NOSE MIGHT NOT RESPOND TO ROLLING.

a little a ahead of me on the rolling so its nice to learn from
you on what's working for you.
I've not rolled my nose greg so i can't really say much on that.
I would guess skin is skin, so why not???
After my first 1.5 roll I was pretty red a few days. I actually
expected it to be worse but it wasn't. My face was pretty
sore the day after, just red for maybe 2 days, and the redness
continued for maybe 4 days, diminishing each day.
I'm debating whether to wait 2 months or 3 for my next roll??
Since I'm 40 years old I heal a little slower than 10 years ago,
so I may wait an extra month.
best wishes to all

Do you find it difficult when you roll your nose? It just seems that with the dermaroller, it would be quite awkward rolling on top of a protruding, non-flat surface like the nose, as opposed to the cheek or forehead. Have you thought about gently needling your nose scars with individual needles? Sorry, if you already have said that you do and I just missed it, but that might help.
I also read somewhere that someone had good success with crossing their nose with TCA, but in a much lower percent, like 50% or less. And they still got good results. 100% is risky and tends to leave it worse off because of the nose's thin skin, but I'm sure you already have thought about this...

Anyone out there been rolling and noticed an improvement in pore size? So far I have zero improvement to my large pores, scars yes but pores not at all. I am quite disappointed by this as my pores are horribly big and make me look old despite that fact that my skin is otherwise in good nick.
Thanks

Hey Guys,
I am glad to hear you guys are having such great results...if any of you were to show picture sbefore and after that would be great.
Can someone post information (links) about dermaroller...
theres info on derma rollers all over this forum as well as a sticky at the top of the page..I use a1.5mm derma roller purchased on ebay, I use led lights, 15% topical c serum at the right ph balance off ebay, and I use 31g 5mm diabetic pen needles to individually needle my deepest scars..I purchase them from americandiabeteswholesale dot com
.Hi Munsoned!
With the led lights, which particular one r u using?
I hear baby quasar is about the best one around for scarring.
Thanks

BRD told me for large pores to use LED therapy becuase some of his patients had reported smaller pore size. also Leds improve the resutls for scars.
i would also use a topical that increase collagen and elastin like retinol or terproline which is mentioned quite alot in the 'ok guys' thread

Really pleased with how my scars have responded - i mostly have ice picks. Gutted though that it is doing nothing for my large pores and I hope that in time it will have some effect because this year the pores on my nose have become large and look scarred. never had cysts on my nose just blackheads but I had the blackheads all over my nose for 16 years and reckon that the pores are scarred as a consequence
Oh and honeygirl (love that name!) the colour issue I reckon will completely disappear in time, it is reallllyyyy hard to notice it now, only if you stand close to a mirror and even when you graze your hand it takes weeks for the skin to return to it's original time.
Be back soon!

3 rolls so far, 1.5mm 3 line roller. 1st roll not that aggressive, 2nd two more so - but don't go mad people, this is your face!!!
Very painful to roll UNLESS you do your face in sections and don't rub the EMLA cream in when you apply it, leave it quite thick under the cling film for 45 mins then rinse it off, wipe with antibacterial solution (I use detol diluted.) I do one cheek and half of chin then 2 hours later other cheek and half of chin then 2 hours later forehead then 1 hour later my nose. Doing it this way takes up almost your whole day but means that you are not overdosing on the ELMA - and that your face will be numb when rolling. Read the "OKguys" thread about elma as it is dangerous and you can literally have a heat attack!!!
I try to roll with 8 lines vertical, 8 horizontal and 8 diagonal on a patch of skin but usually I just end up not counting and just rolling for a random amount of times.
My scarring is mainly a load of ice pick scars in a large patch on my cheeks and some on my forehead, all seem to have responded well.
After the rolls my face is VERY red and I bleed at points during rolling but like I said don't go overboard, its better to do too little rolling than too much!!!
After rolling I apply terproline and continue to do this for a while BUT it cost me £110 for a large tube - they put the price up ANOTHER £20 due to sales from here I would imagine. PLEASE NOTE that I am unsure whether the Terproline is needed and have since bought much cheaper Bio-Oil and am going to try this as I suspect that the actual breaking up of scar tissue with the roller is the main reason for the healing and the topicals just aid recovery. The Bio Oil is a fraction of the price and contains vitamins etc... and so I will give this a try once I have finished my terproline to see how that goes. At the moment I use the Bio Oil during the day (quite greasy though) and terproline at night - I have not had any breakouts or clogged pores as a consequence of using either for months.
After rolling I noticed that some of my scars had changed shape slightly and some looked worse, with further rolls and time the scars have gotten smaller than they were originally and my skin is definitely improving - I'd say about 25 - 30% with just 3 rolls
Your skin will look like crap for about 10 days at least, really red for about four there really obvious pores and crappy texture up until somewhere in the second week.
The rolling so far has not improved my large pores or scarred pores on my nose though I have only rolled my nose twice.
When rolling I have noticed that at times it seems to make some holes, not many but they kind of look like scarred pores. It may be that these are small scars that are just remodelling, I am not sure and will update you but this is even more reason to be careful!!
I don't work for dermaroller, think they could be cheaper for what they are and do sometimes think about what the long term consequences of rolling could be - I fgure that it should most likely be fine as your ski recovers from cuts and bumps all the time but no one really knows about the long term of rolling.
Please read other thread such as "Okguys" as I found all of the info here that I needed before rolling. make sure to clean your rollers and face properly - washing with Hibiscrub 2 days before and after seems like a good idea - but again I am not a medical expert and this might aggravate some people's skin???
In summing up I can't believe that my acne scars are going but am really hoping I can sort out my pores and nose scars then I will be over the moon!!!
Good luck people!!!!
