[acne suckssss!]

Well im a 18 yr old male. I had pretty bad acne an it was just awful. I tried everything. Nothing worked. It took a pretty bad physical and mental toll on me. I wasnt going out as much and was self consious. So finally i got scheduled to see a Dermatoligist. (Best move i could have made.) Well the day i went he told me about putting me on accutane,an gave me a book about it an all the side effects that can come along with taking accutane. From what i can remember some side effects where chapped lips which i got i know another main one was depression and suicidal thoughts. Well to that point i had already been so fed up that i figured be depressed with all these pimples or a take a chance of getting cleared an being depressed. I took that deal in an instant. Its about a 6month proccess. Some people are said to be cleared for good. Well ive been off it for 7months now and couldnt be happier. I just only wish i would have done it sooner. Im just thankful for what it has done for me though. I still have red marks left but there are fading slowly but surely. My face does not get all oily like it used to. As far as pimples well they are NO were near close to how they used to be. Ill maybe get a break out here and there but before i was getting a new huge one alomost every day. Since ive been off it my dermatoligist has prescribed me a topical gel of Erythromycin(3%) and benzyol peroxide(5%). I put it on at night before i go to bed. Since this stuff can dry your face i also use DML mosturizing lotion it works great. Drink lots of water at night and prayer and faith is one the best things i did. I made a promise to myself in october 08 when i got on accutane that if the Lord Jesus and this stuff cleared my skin i would write a forum like this, so theres my story. I really hope someone out there can benifit from this!

And 2 courses accutane did absolutely nothing for me. Fortunately I didn't suffer any of the severe side effects so many people get, although it may be the cause of the dry nasal passages, eyes and mouth I've suffered with ever since. Making me always thirsty, always congested, and wakes me up several times per night from thirst and bathroom trips.

However, diet and healthy lifestyle cleared me very quickly. And that's what this forum is about.
