I'm starting Niacin supplementation today... 400mg - Country Life Flush Free from Vitamin Shoppe. I heard it supposedly amazing for clearing acne. 500mg is the maximum daily dosage and after that, you can risk damage to your liver (not sure why.. haven't done extensive enough research on this). Niacin is an actiev ingredient in many common acne topicals and some prescription acne drugs, so there must be something to it...

Can anyone comment on their experience?

I can't really comment as I've just started, but some people on here are having great success. Good luck to you. =)

It worked great for about a week then just stopped working. I might start up again and give it another try.

I would advise against using non-flush niacin. It likely won't work for your acne. The flush is the very thing you want! The expansion of blood vessels (namely capillaries), as well as the release of the hormone histamine is what rids your body of the toxins/waste from cells.

What is the deal with everyone saying the flush kind is better for acne? I cleared 100% on Flush Free Inositol Hexanicotinate. I don't know anyone who has kept their results with the flushing kind of Niacin. If someone has, let me know, but flush-free is fine, so long as you stay under 500 mg. It worked great for me. I hope it works for you, KrittyKat!
