Bio

My name is Alyssa, I'm 14 years old and I've had mild acne since I was about 11. Right now redmarks are my biggest problem - but definitely some acne. Dry skin on the forehead area. My biggest area for acne is along the face and cheeks, occasionally on the forehead. I've tried a bunch of stuff ranging from Stridex to Proactive to Potatoes and natural stuff. lol. None of it has worked. BP irritated and dried out my skin, plus making it very sensitive. I considered my unhealthy diet and thought I'd try this out! Plus, as some of you probably know, being a teenager isn't the easiest job in the world, not to mention a female teenager tongue.gif There'll probably be some boy drama, friend issues [and hopefully, resolutions], family drama, and other stupid crap. But see, that kinda ties in, you know, stress =P

Diet

My diet, well, it's pretty shitty. It consists of junk food and TONS of soda. I've tried to set out a plan for myself but that didn't go over so well. I'm a real procrastinator and never go through with things full set, but I'm REALLY set on it this time. I hoped that by making this thread, it'd be more 'official' because it's out there and I can't just delete it like a blog. I'm cutting out anything that comes in wrappers, eating more fruit and veggies, you know, the whole shabang. I know this will be really rough starting out, and I'm fully prepared for it.
I've had a workout plan going lately, and it consists of cardio and a variety of toning exercises over the course of six weeks. I've completed four [I think] weeks now, and I'm prepared to carry this out even longer, and possibly make it a life routine.
One thing I definitely need is more water, so I'm doing that, too...
Any questions? Feel free to ask amused.gif

Day 1
I had what I declared to myself "the last glass of coke". Maybe just diet coke every now and then would be alright? I'm not too sure on this whole giving it all up thing. We'll see how much things improve until I make any decisions, but I guess I'll stop full-out now.
I had two overeasy eggs for breakfast and did 30 minutes cardio on the elliptical. For lunch, I kinda fell asleep, because I have a REALLY crappy sleeping schedule. I was up 6pm - 12pm the next day, then slept from noon to 6pm. So I had dinner, which was two slices of... *gulp*... pizza. shy.gif
I'm telling you, this is tough! I almost had another but I resisted my urge.
Plus, if you didn't know - TEA. Tea is great!!!!!!! I experienced it today and it made me feel full. Off to do some toning, I'll update tonight sideways.gif

Hey Alyssa goodluck smile.gif iam also started taking better care about what i eat and drink.
definatly more fruit & veggies and i drink lots of water and green tea, ive been doing this for couple of weeks now and seen good results so far. i used to eat a lot of junk and drink lots of soda too, i thought it would be hard to make that change, but i hardly miss it it's kinda weird.
i used to eat a lot of chocolade i was really addicted to it lol and i haven't eat that in like 3 months now iam so proud smile.gif
but iam out, take care

Thanks so much for your reply! I'm really glad it's helped you. amused.gif I believe this will help with a lot of my issues, not just skin.
*hugs*

Day 2
So for breakfast I had two eggs, toast, and some orange juice. Didn't have lunch because, as I said, I slept through it again. For dinner, I ate this really weird red thing. It kinda looked like Bratwurst, but tasted like chinese.... and some rice -- cashew chicken, white rice, peas, and some other weird crap.
I haven't been drinking any water lately. I need some motivation, here! lol.gif

I've been on a similar "eating lifestyle" as you are working on for a year or so now. Its really easy after the first couple weeks. Like Keeping Faith said, you hardly miss it. I've started to drink water over coke just because I like it more. My tastes have changed over time, its really bizarre.

Best of Luck!

Thanks, XCman! I really appreciate the positive comments here. amused.gif
Day 3
Ahah... oh jeez. So I slept through Breakfast AND lunch. Woke up at 8 o'clock. For dinner I had a hamburger and some potatoes. I'm not too sure if I should cut out meats? I saw in some threads that you should avoid them, but in another that it's good, plus it's protein. I dunno?

Slim, you dork, I didn't do it on purpose! sad.gif
Day 4
Breakfast I had eggs, again. I guess I should stop with the eggs, I heard only 6 a week is good? Pshh. I dunno.
Lunch I had... eusa_think.gif You know what, I can't really remember. Nevermind, it was pasta. Yumm.
I dunno what to ever eat. Does anyone know what I should and shouldn't eat? Cuz that'd be great doubt.gif
Fell asleep at 2:30 so I didn't have dinner. I woke up at 11pm and had tea. lol

keep up with the eggs, they'll carry you into your 90's smile.gif
also any foods which are high in fats are a good idea to eat less of, as i think the left over stuff which your body cant use is expelled from your body, with some of it going through the sebum glands in the face i think. People feel free to correct me if im wrong smile.gif
GL with everything, and keep the eggs smile.gif

Thanks for the reply sammydixo! sideways.gif

Day 5
I had a banana and milk for breakfast. I know, I know, watch out for dairy nag.gif But I've tried the dairy before and it really didn't do anything, so I don't think that's my issue. I worked out on the elliptical and did some toning, I need lunch now, I think I'll have an egg sandwich amused.gif Edit - No bread, so I made an omelet with ham and eggs. And folded it. It was grand. Then I had ravioli for dinner. amused.gif

This summer is officially boring. What I had hoped to be my best summer ever... well, that didn't happen, at all. Nothing to do, all my friends are away. I could go outside and enjoy the day because I LOVE being outside, and yet, I have no motivation. Instead, I'm locked up in my room all day, on here lol.gif

P.S - I edited the title of the thread. I needed something more crafty... eusa_think.gif

Lyssaaaaa! I'm so happy you've jumped on the Holistic bandwagon. Hope it works out for you well biggrin.gif

And sorry I haven't been on chat. My computer keeps freezing when I try. Tomorrow I'm going to try to do a complete computer overhaul and fix it. amused.gif

Oh, and for water, just carry it around with you wherever you go. Like, if you're sitting at the computer or walking around or out somewhere, have a bottle/glass with you. You know, a bottle when you're out and about and a glass when you're inside. Because who walks around the mall with a glass of water? Anyway, keep it with you and sip at it until it becomes habit. smile.gif

I've been drinking TONS of water. I think I've peed about 5 litres today! lol.gif And no soda today, I'm so proud. I think it's my biggest issue. biggrin.gif

whooo hooo lyssa...cutting out soda is very hard, i know what you are going through. I used to have a Dr Pepper a day since I was 15, untill I decided to cut it out in order to have better skin. Its been 3 month and I havent touched a soda, so it gets easier but the first month is crucial, especially if you are addicted like I was...Good luck dear ;p

Thanks Janey amused.gif
It's sooo tempting.

Day 6
Had eggs with milk for breakfast. For lunch I had strawberries and made a smoothie - strawberries, bananas, apples, and orange juice, with crushed ice. Mmm. amused.gif
Plus I have drunken TONS of water the past few days. I'm peeing like crazy. I hope this works out well. Haven't had a soda all day amused.gif Dinner was a salad lol

Day 7
Well okay. I woke up last night to a Charlie Horse in my leg wicked bad. I started bawling like crazy, it hurt so much. Some people said this could be from low calcium or dehydration... which, either doesn't make sense because I've been drinking more water and more milk than ever. lol.
So. Breakfast I had eggs and cheese with a glass of OJ. Lunch was spaghettios [How is that btw? They say they have calcium and protein shrug.gif] And as for dinner, it's chicken. I think. I've also been taking Zinc.... my skin so far looks... softer? eusa_think.gif Edit: Scratch the chicken, I had a cucumber and tea with grapes lol
