I don't think I have replied to your log before but I just wanted to drop by and say I think your skin is looking AWESOME!

I wouldn't worry too much about the scars.. Once the redness fades I bet they won't be that bad, or worth trying to get rid of. The area's you have your redmarks is kind of good because people don't notice stuff on the sides of your face or your forehead as much. All of mine are right below my eyes in the cheek area sad.gif

g4u man, you're going to be completely clear, redmarks and all, when your course is finished.

Day 76

http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn83/Ph...ry/IMG_3231.jpg

So this is my forehead, on a cold day, so no redness present.

It can vary from that to pretty nastily red when im hot at school, but that should reduce over time *waits*

School is pretty busy atm, applying to university - kinda exciting, but yeah, lots going on.

this weekend I'm planning on doing a big post up, to update you all, because to be perfectly honest, i've not said much abuot what's been going on the last 2 weeks - Sorry.

OK so that's my forehead, I'll get some up of my back and chest and whatnot this weekend.

I hope everyone's doing great - check out George's Sister's results, she's doing absolutely awesomely!!! Congrats to all of you who've seen some fantastic results!

Hey guys, haven't posted in a while - been really lazy, SORRY.
Back at school so i'm knackered when I get home.

So I went to the derm yesterday, I got my 4th month's supply of 50mg, no change in dose.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow, when I get batteries for my camera - but here is one my friend took of me at school - I look clear in it : )

Until tomorrow!

Month 3 - COMPLETE

It is absolutely FREEZING and windy today, and it's making my skin a paler and a lot more red marks are showing than normal - I'm going to take some more pictures tonight, show you the contrast.

So it's the end of month 3 and what news is there?

All acne has stopped, with the exception of a few (4-5 spots) on my back and chest in the last 1 and a half weeks, which was strange, as I hadn't been getting any before then, for a good month.

I have had a spot on the underside of my right elbow, and right now I have one on my thigh... weird.

I've been getting slightly down in the dumps, but that's alright now.

Lips, well, they don't even need explaining - let's just say, I pretty much own a stake in Carmex right now.

Bit of back pain every now and then - it's really sporadic!

I've got just one month left, apparently! Really nervous as to whether I'm gonna need it again - if I do, I've been told I can get an appointment to take accutane again, as long as it is within six months of last seeing my dermatologist (which will be the day I finish), so I guess that's put that to rest.

I just want to be able to take my top off someday... as pathetic as that sounds. But I get people, like this girl at school who jokes about me taking my top off, not knowing, of course, what's underneath.

At nighttime, I'm more comfortable, everyone with red marks knows how less they show in the evening, even in well lit rooms.

Getting some really big red flushes at school - and that thing about skin not healing so fast? Absolutely true. I'm getting cuts that don't heal for like, a week at least.

Plus, get eye drops everybody - I had a black eye randomly, just with having dry eyes, it was bizarre... hard to explain. I didn't even hurt my eye!!!

OK so here goes,

http://s302.photobucket.com/albums/nn83/Ph...nt=07978e0e.pbw

It's in the form of a slideshow : )
Because there's a lot of pictures to get through...

And there's one of my rabbits in there : P

I knew you were supposed to take the pills with food, but it's supposed to be with fatty foods? Hmm... Do you take both pills at the same time, or breakfast / dinner type schedule?

In answer to your question LeadZeppelin, YES, you really should take your accutane with something as high in fat as possible.

This is because Isotretinoin is lipid soluble, meaning it will dissolve in fat, allowing it to be absorbed in the small intestine much more easily. Studies have shown that absorption can increase by up to 100% when taken with fatty food - this means you can absorb up to twice as much as when you don't take it with fatty food!

Also, yes, I do take mine all in one go - If you are on a high dose (80mg+) I would probably recommend splitting it up into say, 40mg morning and 40mg at night, just to keep levels in your blood increasing at a steadier rate, not in nasty 80mg jumps which (i dunno, maybe) make any IB worse, because your body has more to deal with at once.

I tend to take mine late in the evening, as this is when the inflammatory (swelling and basically, spot producing lol) system is at work the most, so it gets into me right when things want to get bad.

Hope that helps : )

Thanks

Day 94

Wow - what a week; things couldn't be better.

Yet again, no new spots, except 2-3 on my back (BIG ONES) which I realised were as a result of not showering after riding home. Marks on chest have pretty much faded 100%!!! It's AWESOME!!!
There are white atrophic scars everywhere there, but to be honest, I'm just glad it's all over there.
My back's red marks are fading, gradually - can't wait till it's just pure smooth skin colour lol.

Then to top things off, school's going amazing, just applied to uni and i'm in a new relationship (thank you accutane wink.gif )

It seems that any marks or scars you had have really faded to unnoticeable and gone. I hope when mine clears up that mine can fade just as fast. Its hard to not pick and squeeze the ones i have now, and I really dont want more marks and scars to add to my collection so im trying my hardest not to. Yeah my derm told me to take my doses with full meals if possible and every pill i have taken has been with PLENTY of fat lol. Took mine with a 12 oz ribeye at dinner smile.gif. Have already gained 6 or so pounds doing this

Day 102

So I'm on my last week and a half of accutane... it's been fantastic...

I have a dermatologist appointment two weeks after finishing - don't know what to expect then.

Just taken some pictures of my back and chest... take a look : )

This drug's saved my ass... I'm so grateful...

I'm going to keep updating on the situation post-tane, and whether or not I need a second course.

Thanks to all of you for supporting me, you're all awesome people : D

I'll update next week and the week after and then when i have the derm appointment - bye for now!!!
