So i am not sure if this has already been done.. but I always see people asking when accutane started to clear other peoples faces. (I am also one of those people who are curious)

So i thought I would start a simple thread that people can easily look at when others started to clear

Answer the following questions in a post.

1)How long was your course

2)How bad was your acne?.. scale 1-10

3)When did accutane START clearing? (Stopped getting acne)

4)When did your skin get completely clear? (No new acne and old acne had healed)


Any other information would be great also.

other info: first 2 months were pure hell but you got to stick with it , third month is where I started to see some nice improvements , and the last months are when you're the most happy because everything is getting better and better.

1- 8 months
2- i can't rate my acne because it was so up and down. at times it was really mild and nobody could even tell i had an issue. other times i got 1 or 2 really big, painful cysts at a time, along with constant under the skin bumps and stuff especially around the chin area that NEVER went away.
3- accutane cleared me up literally immediately.
4- stayed clear basicallyyy my entire course with the exception of a couple little breakouts. been clear ever since!

I was told by my derm that the course is 'how many boxes of accutane'

not 'how many months of accutane'

1)How long was your course? 8 months of a high dose

2)How bad was your acne? i would say a 5, but EXTREMELY persistent. I was on 80 mgs for 4 months and and alternating 40 mgs and 80 mgs for 4 months... and I only weight 118 lbs!

3)When did accutane START clearing? seventh month

4)When did your skin get completely clear? eighth month

Well, that depends on how big a box is doesn't it?

each box is a month...

Mine last 3 weeks. It differs.
