I noticed weight lost my first month, so did my mom.. but it was only like 5 pounds. No big deal really. I now hover around 149-152, but I don't weigh that much.. like once every couple of weeks. You would think since you are suppose to take tane with fatty foods that you might gain weight, but I guess not. I have been eating a bunch of takeout this summer. A BUNCH.
Lexy's accutane log=) I am so depressed with life and school

Since last week , about 6 days ago. i got two of the tiniest bump on my face, but it hasnt gone away until today. u know, those stubborn, ultra small, acne spots that take a long time to dissapear and are ever so tempting to scratch. i scratched them of course. one of them has completely healed. but the other one is on my right cheek and it is now a reddish spot, something like a raised reddish bump. i dont know when it will leave me alone. it sucks really.
so yeah, please do your work accutane and heal me so that i have 0 actives on my face:)

No actives except for a reddish gash on my left cheek. it started out with 2 tiny white bumps on my skin, and excessive scratching later, became what it is now. Just put a plaster over it, hoping it will go away tomorrow.
It sucks. cause i almost achieved clear skin until this reddish patch had to come and spoil it all. its kinda big, since i scratched it. Spent the saturday at home, and probably tomorrow will be the same, until the wound-like acne heals completely. Such a lonely feeling, staying home to recuperate, which i am sure many of us are familiar with.

Nowadays i tend to look into the mirror more often, sometimes in the brightest of lighting. I realise that my face looks reddish around the cheeks. anyone knows how to cure reddishness? I think i have had redness coupled with acne for a few years. i think it is described as rosacea, but does a red face necessarily mean rosacea?
Anyway i noticed newer side effects recently. my lips are starting to get chappier. my nose is becoming dry, as well as my eyes. especially when i wake up. i have to blink my eyes many times for the moisture. my nose bled a couple of times recently.
AND EVEN MORE SCARIER. I went to a hair salon, and the new guy who washed my hair said my hair was thinning, but he tried to market a product to me. But still he made me full of stress that day. because my dad started to bald in his mid twenties. anyone knows of tips how to prevent hair loss? I am considering a multivitamin(but does anyone know if it works?) I guess i have to start taking good care of my hair. but i am not sure how either.
Ive also got a vitamin E that is outdated for 4months. I havent opened it before except for 1 week ago. so i was wondering if its ok to consume it. In fact ive already popped 2 pills.

For the redness, being more relaxed and energetic and stressed makes you redder - being tired, nervous and calm, you're whiter - basic blood pressure principles. Other than that, for redness on previous lesion sites, i'd advise trying Apple cider vinegar, many have found it to work well - look it up on the website : )
'Fraid I can't give you any advice on the hair loss thing - it's your mum's dad that you should look to about that, as that is whose hair you shall take after. Normally you can predict what will happen to your hair if you look and your grandfather on your mother's side, as that is how the gene passes, I don't know exactly (hides)...
The vitamin e tablets should be alright, but i'm not gonna go throwing suggestions, telling you to take them! just incase!

and now i look into mirrors all the time. my skin has improved very much since the last time. and probably the best skin i have without any cover up which i used to use a long long long time ago. But in the whitest of lights. U know those flourescent lightings, it reveals light scarring on my face, which are on my cheeks as well as one on my nose. Its those type of light scarring. in fact, in the past, when i did not dare look into white lighting(which is th brightest lighting of all) i didnt even know i had scars.
i would press my face into the mirror and look into these scars, and think how those people without acne in their lives must feel, when i compare the skin on my face to the skin on my arms. such a contrasting difference in the cheek area. So i am wondering if scar surgery really works at all. if i get rid of these scars, my skin would be picture perfect. i am considering going for scar surgery after accutane and i cant go for those laser ones( which cost a few thousand dollars) anyone got suggestions? such as subcision etc. (my scars are pretty light) but i got one deep one on my nose)
all thats on my mind nowadays is only my studies, friends who are really good to me, and the FUTURE without any more acne that has so destroyed my life for the past few years, eaten into my self confidence. In fact, in my free time, i always zoom into the present and envision myself when everything has healed, probably after scar surgery. and i keep picturing myself looking into my face in the future. I did that too when i was suffering from a major outbreak to the time when i was clear. and now im pretty much clear. except for those horrid scars.
i will post pictures soon. and only the recent ones. I will request a pre-accutane picture from my derm when i see her in 2 weeks time.
so yeah to sum up. my condition right now is 0 actives and it has been this way for 2 weeks or so. 3 dark marks on my right cheek. and light scarring on my cheek, one deep scar on my nose. Pinkish white skin tone having avoided the sun for such a long time. as well as rosacea(facial redness).

my friends have all dismissed what the hairdresser said as a hoax to get me to buy some of their products after looking at my hair. my dad's mum passed away when she was 12, i never got to see him . but he was full of hair;) so i hope your right. And yeah, i will try scar surgery in the future, after accutane, but im not quite sure why i cant do it right now even though i am on accutane. I cant wait for clear milky white skin. u look good by the way man:)

Hi everybody! been a while since i last posted. anyway i have a monthly derm appointment which is due tomorrow. Right now, my skin isnt breaking out like before. I think i had 2 acne in the last 3 weeks. But they were the stubborn type that were lodged underneath the skin as whitish substance, and whenever i scratched them they got worse.
Had a nosebleed streak for 2 weeks but now that has come to an end. around days 50-62. Anyway, my complexion is improving daily, and i hope for excellent results at the end of my treatment, after which i will undergo scar treatment and get mirror perfect skin^^
To those of my friends out there undergoing accutane and to those who are going to undergo it, you will find in accutane a miracle drug that will change your lifestyle.
Things that I have gained since accutane:
1) no more oily skin that i have to wash every 2 hours
2) no more using cover up
3) no more skipping outings/school cause of my acne
4) not needing to cover my face whenever theres a pretty girl around
5) better relationships with my friends as a result of boosted confidence from better skin
Things that i have lost:
1) A muscular physique as i have entirely stopped weightlifting
2) 3-4kg of meat
3) Chappier and swollen lips
4) frequent red eyes
5) attraction to girls( ever since accutane, i totally kind of stopped being attracted to girls)
so you tell me if it is worth it . haha
111 days more until my course is done:)! heh

Dont feel so good recently. My upper nose is reddish due to a cyst. it just popped out of nowhere 3 days ago.cant really call it a cyst, cause it isnt as bad as the cysts i used to have without accutane. its like a red inflamed spot that is supposed to be a cyst without accutane. Elsewhere im acne free. my eyes are always red recently as well.

1.) Get back into it. You dont want to have to start from scratch. If you are having joint pain(I did and stopped lifting for a month or so) take some fish oil and pop an aspirin before hitting the gym. Seemed to work for me.
2.) Miss eating red meat or you have lost weight? If you miss eating red meat, suck it up, its not good for ya anyways. If you have lost weight, look on the bright side, youll get more ripped
3.) Worst part of accutane. It was the only thing making me dread my 6th month. Put aquaphor or vasaline all over your lips over night, that seemed to help me
4.) This wasnt a huge problem for me. Mine would get very tired after looking at a computer screen or reading for an extended period of time. I have no suggestion
5.) One side effect of accutane is a decreased libido. Once again, not something I experienced. Just go with it for now. If it is really bothering you or you think it isnt a normal side effect talk to your derm. I am sure they have heard everything by now.
Good luck! Feel free to come to anyone on this board for help. No one here will judge you and I promise, if it is happening to you, it has already happened to someone else on this board.

yeah it has changed my lifestyle.. and i hope it can eventually change my life after i have completed my course. i also started out with 20 mg and i am now doing 30 mg until the end.
For me, the IB was extremely horrible, lasted 3-4 weeks, and took 2 more weeks for the red marks to fade off. after that hellish period, my skin gradually improved.

Hey thanks so much for all the advice. i guess i will start doing lighter workouts, mostly resistance, pull ups and push ups etc.
yeah, my eyes get tired as well after a while on the com, but as for reading i have no choice, my school academics demand that i study a good 3-4 hours at least a day to stay on schedule.
so how is your progress on accutane?

Anyone can help me or give me some suggestions?? In the past, i used to squeeze the pus out, i dont remember actually having a cyst reduce in size by itself, since i never actually left my cysts alone. but this time, i want to make sure no scarring occurs, so should i just leave accutane to do its job? and should i apply anything to make it heal faster? feeling depressed lately:(

I ended a 5 month course about 3 weeks ago. I saw one small active 2 days after I went off of it. Other than that I am completely clear. My body is starting to return to normal. My face has a small amount of oil, my lips are getting much better, the aches and pains I had are going away, and my eyes are starting to get better. I am very happy I did this. I can only hope my acne is gone for good and that this works just as well for everyone else.
As for your cyst, dont worry. They go away soooooo much faster when you are on accutane. DONT PICK IT! I found that my skin was very very weak during my course. Picking caused the skin to rupture and it would be a week or more before it would return to normal.
