Wow. I wrote the original posting on this topic and I cannot believe that it is still active and is one of the longest discussions on the website. I never expected more than three or four people to even read this and I have not been back here since July because I thought interest would quickly fade away. You are all long overdue for an update, so I will write a comprehensive one. I have some exciting new information for everyone. Sorry for taking so long. I will be sure to check in when I can from now on. Please go back to the beginning and read my new update.

I read this whole thread just last night and went right out and bought a bottle of Niacin. It's rather ironic that you post your update the very next day! Hahaha...

Well, I'm very disheartened to hear that your acne came back. I'm gonna give the Niacin a go anyway (since I already bought the bottle and all.) I hope your new solution sticks for you.

Happy New Year. Here's to clearer skin for all of us!

Hi all,

First time poster, I just wanted to say that using the niacin pills does work to some extent. It is by no means the mighty cure however. I have been on this for the past 72 hours, taking two pills (400mg) a day, breakfast and dinner. To be honest I started seeing results in the first 24 hours, the redness was reduced significantly. After 48 hours, the breakouts on my face were reduced just as much.

Mind you, it does take a while if you have mild to severe acne like myself. Give yourself at least a week before you show any improvements. But it does work, that's the good news. And guess what, since I started, no new breakouts at all! I used to have regular back breakouts, but in the last 3 days, nothing new appeared.

You do not need to buy the "Spring Valley" brand, since I'm in Quebec, Canada, I didn't have access to it, so I bought the "Swiss" kind still flush-free however that comes in 400mg. Just make sure you don't take more than 1000-1500mg per day. I'm 6'1 190pds and 800mg day seems to be good so far, just to give you an idea.

I hope this can help some of you, I've already recommended it to a friend of mine who had breakouts because of stress, as I'm positive this will help her get those zits taken care of.

To a greater future!

Jon

Hi,

Thanks for the update and all the info. I have watched Dr Whiting's videos and read about the Oxy Aloe Flush which seems very interesting.

I am interested to know what Dr Whiting said to you with regards to acne treatment as he was asked about this in a youtube video comment 6 months ago. Someone asked if it would get rid of acne and his reply was "No, acne is best addressed by using topical cleansers and taking 50 mg of zinc gluconate."

If I can find some more testimonials about this stuff I might give it a try anyway as I have other symptoms as well.

Hi everyone! First of all I would like to say thank you very much to this website. I just found out about this website about three days ago. I know how everyone feels. You feel like no one else around you has acne besides you and, you guy ALL provide comfort. I have been constantly browsing these threads for tips and advice and have decided to start Dans Regimen. I should get it within a couple of days. I am a 22 year old male. I had acne growing up but, had BP prescribed by a doctor and it cleared it up. Then a year later i noticed my acne getting progressively worse. It was terrible, i had to see all of my family and i felt embarressed because i could tell that everyone was looking at my acne. So, I have made it a strong presence to communicate through you guys and let you know how it goes. The reason I am writing this here in this particular order is because I am going to try Niacin (non-flush) tomorrow, as well as Dans Regimen. I have taken before pictures because, if all goes well i want to pass the word on. I am also going to take fish oil, daily vitamin, and ibuprofen (bad shoulders). I am wondering what a good facial cleanser or moisturizer that can help me deal with scars. Im hopin that Niacin works as wonderfully for me as it did for everyone. I have mild to moderately sever acne. Its not that bad but, mostly I have gained some dark scars that dont seem to go away. However, what are some good facial applications to help rid scars with the Niacin. I'll let you know how it goes! If I forget to post and you don't hear from me e-mail me! I'll let you know how it goes. I gave myself the name the_TRUTH because i am going to give it as straightforward as possible. SO, that you know what I am saying is direct as possible. Thanks a lot guys! I'll talk to you soon!

This is, by far, the weirdest thread I have ever read. It starts out with acne being cured by niacin and then is updated that acne is caused by candida caused by antibiotics. Then, the person says they started doxy again?! That makes no sense. I am glad the doxy is keeping you clear, but it's because it's getting rid of the bacteria. The candida is growing more now...I don't understand, did I miss something here?

Thanks to this thread, I've started taking 1000mg niacinamide (NOT niacin) for about two months now and have seen a dramatic improvement in my skin. I have suffered from moderate acne for over 10 years now and have tried everything prescription/topical under the sun. This by far has been the best treatment and for the first time since I can remember I have clear skin! Although I am still left with pigmentation from previous breakouts, I hope these will fade over time. Also pore size and texture are greatly improved and makeup just looks so much better now.

I hope the niacinamide continues to work, its saved my skin quite lliterally.

I think the key point is that after clearing on doxy he his expecting the acidophilus to prevent the return of candida. I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes.

konichiwa5, can you (or anyone else) give me some advice? Niacin did work for on the begin, but later it stopped. My acne worses when I drink milk, and one time I got acne free taking two antibiotics/anti-inflammatories to stop a pain in a tooth.
