I woke up to find a small unsuspecting bump has developed into a cyst overnight! I applied benzac (2.5% BP) over it like every 1 hour and today is the second day and it hasn't gone down much. I hate to cover such blemishes with makeup as there is a ring around the cyst that is reddish and hard to cover with makeup!
I was wondering if you "catch" the cyst before it fully develops and apply pimple cream over it rigourously, will it go down before it fully develops? Or is there such a potent spot treatment cream that it goes down within hours or overnight?
For me, icing that spot doesn't help at all I've tried a few times over the years. Cysts are the worst!
Possible for a cyst to go down rapidly overnight?

I get such cysts on my chin. I've been applying Tea Tree Oil and Apple Cider Vinegar and they reduce in size drastically. Hope it helps.

Tea Tree Oil is the only thing that helps bring mine down quickly. They don't completely disappear for a couple weeks, but they are much less noticeable and don't hurt anymore.

A little dot of Differin makes them nearly go away overnight for me.

You can put loads of BP on the cyst overnight and it'll reduce in size, but it makes your skin really dry. I've been using tea tree oil, and it's been working really well for me.

I was using TTO before (Thursday's Plantation). It's been a while but I remember it drying up the spot, but I don't know if it's gentler than Benzac. Maybe I should go back to it, although it stinks like hell compared to the relatively odor-less Benzac. My family could smell the thing whenever I use it in my room!
I overapplied Benzac on my cyst and wow it looks horrible now lol, like my cheek got punctured by mini vampires, red patches within the cyst-affected spot! It's weird as hell not to mention patchy. I've never seen anything like it before. Learned my lesson again..

You know, I never believed the people on the boards when they said not to pop the cyst. I would always attempt to squeeze the gunk out of the sucker, but it would only aggravate the cyst and turn it from skin-colored to blood red. But I finally worked out a step-by-step method to bring my cysts down.
When I first feel the cyst coming, I pop ibuprofen and ice that sucker for as long as possible (off-and-on as much as my skin can tolerate it). Then I wash my face, open up my pores with the steam and immediately put on Mario Badescu's buffering lotion that is specially formulated for cysts. By opening the pores, it allows the product to skin down in and attack the nasty stuff inside (well...that's what I think). My cysts definitely don't go down overnight...in fact the cyst I got two weeks ago (which is what I tested out my method on) got bigger and redder. But I was persistent. I didn't poke/prod it like I normally do. I just put TTO during the day, showered, iced, opened my pores and put on the buffering lotion. Magically...after about 4 days of this..the cyst went back to skin color and shrunk. There is a slight bump now but you can't see it
