Candida Diet

There is simply so much overwhelming evidence, all coming together from multiple sources, that suggests that the candida/paleo/primal/keto diet are very, very beneficial for one's health, and so many diseases and afflictions of modern civilisation can be traced back to a terrible, high-carb, high sugar, junk food diet of foods that the body did not evolve to consume.
In a weird way, acne may have forced us to do something (change our diet) in ways that will benefit us a thousand times over in the long run.

Toadys foods include:::
breakfast:
3 scrambled eggs
small amount of guacomole on eggs with butter
Lunch:
Beef tips cooked in coconut oil w/ green/red peppers w/ onions
Dinner: steak and vegetable side
Everything is still going well. Not one pimple/infection in site... This makes one happy!
Randomness
I believe refined carbohydrates and sugar are disastrous for human consumption in the quantities Americans consume.
130 lbs of sugar a year is consumed by the average american... WOAH!
Read "Life Without Bread" if you are thinking about low-carbing... It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle!
have a great day,
Jeff

Another thing to think about is if your skin is showing inflamation/bacteria/blemishes whatever they are. I wonder what's going on with other parts of your body. Look at it this way your skin is the largest part of your body and the toxins/blemishes which are appearing is trying to tell you something. Maybe the things you are eating aren't helping things and only increasing problems. The standard american diet has an outrageous omega 6 to omega 3 ratio. It's something like 6:1 or even higher. I don't know off the top of my head. But omega 3's are what decreases inflammation in the body. I'm not blaming acne solely on the omega 6, 3 ratio. I am sure it's not the best for us. I'm off topic here, but do you really want to be a slave to topical solutions and doctor visits or even experimenting with powerful antibiotics even worse accutane... Invest in your body as a whole eat real food!!!
You can go on vacation just eat as closely as possible to the diet... Try to eat grilled meat, this way they won't spray the oven top with horrible margarine or whatever they use in restaurants. Get some seafood or a salad. You have options out there...
Think of it this way the way you are eating now is investing in your health in the long run... Let your friends eat the way they want to. I believe many people eat what is tasty and convienient without thinking about what they are putting into there bodies. I just don't get it... Like we were not made for all the sugar consumption that we currently take in annually. It's ridiculous some 130 lbs per person annually. Then if you think about all the different diseases out there I am a true believer refined carbs / sugars have a lot to do with it. I have read some materials which back up the premise of sugar and refined carbs being detrimental to your health. Life without Bread and Good Calories Bad Calories.
I hope this little rant helps... in all seriousness find your balance. For me, it's sticking with eating like this. I love it! I actually enjoy food and cooking! I've heard this said before when eating a hamburger it's not the bread that makes it taste good, but the meat itself. It might be convienient to pick up, but none the less bread is plain and boring...
Hope you find your cure,
Jeff

It's sad that they don't offer things for people with sensitive taste buds (as I've been suggesting sugar-free ice cream). Whenever I find sugar-free foods like this they just have artificial sweeteners. Is it that weird that I can eat plain chocolate? Am I the one that has gone mad or is it everyone else????
Reguardless, I'm having a hard time sticking to this diet. I've been on and off since the beginning of June. If I eat one small sugary item (a piece of fruit) I can't stop and eat another piece of fruit + 5 cookies or whatever I can find. It really doesn't even taste good while or after I've eaten it. It's not really about that at all. It's really just a high. Anyway I have really bad reactions especially if my stomach is full...even one thing that's shady on a full stomach of good food screws me up. I get the shakes for hours and gas, digestion issues, fatigue, confusion. I usually make myself fall asleep so that I don't hurt myself somehow.
The reason I really have trouble is because I'm always hungry and there's not really always something to eat. Even when I was way past the first week of this diet I still wanted to just eat everything and anything I could find. I held off for a long time. Too much shit happened when I did go on a carb binge for a couple days and I'm still trying to get rid of the affects. I just felt like every damn meal was a challenge for me. I'd finish eating and I'd want more food and/or carbs...I feel so restricted and I'm not sure if I should try eating a little bit of oatmeal or something in this diet. I don't want to though because I'm afraid one little bit will lead to more and more. Even if I'm not thinking about carbs in between meals I'm thinking about how I have no energy reguardless of how much/how little I just ate. I don't think my body metabolizes any of this...and I was on the diet very strict for some time. My body should have switched over to fat metabolism awhile ago. I don't know whether to eat more or less...if I eat too much there's a chance of getting candida pains REGUARDLESS of what I have eaten. I think my digestion sucks. Doctors won't tell me shit. They always say "you're healthy go home". If I was healthy I wouldn't be hungry 100% of the time and I wouldn't practically have a seizure from eating a bowl of cereal. Fuck the medical field. Sorry if I'm too harsh but this is annoying me and no one around me will take me seriously without a proper diagnosis. I know it's in my hands to take hold of my health but NOBODY around me is encouraging this in any way. Hopefully I can fix things up when I move away for college. If not then I'll be overeating in an apartment and feeling sick and not focused for class. It's going to suck if all I'm thinking about all day during school is food. I need to do something about this now. I just wish someone would tell me how to do it and if there's something deeper here or if I'm just crazy. I'm also sorry if I offended anyone by this post and would appreciate any advice.

Chey, you feel like I do.... EXACTLY like I do. HOWEVER I have gotten better over the last week, vacation did me good. What I did on vacation was I ate two or three HUGE meals per day and got lots of sun.... I didnt feel super hungry in between meals because of this. I am wondering if the sun has a lot to do with being healthy?? Maybe you should up your vitamin D intake. I remember someone in the holistic forum telling me to do that on this diet, I dont rememeber who now though. Anyway, this is what I would have eaten on a normal vacatino day last week:
Breakfast: 3 or four eggs fried in coconut oil with soaked walnuts.
Lunch: 1 or 2 grilled fish fillets and a HUGE salad drenched in olive oil and covered in soaked pumpkin seeds.
Dinner: Always two large peices of meat, usually two steaks or a steak and a chicken breast, grilled with spices and coconut oil and again and HUGE salad with pumpkin seeds and olive oil.
If I did snack I had soaked nuts (soaked for 6 hours) or spoonfulls of coconut oil.
I am wondering Chey, if you are eating enough fat?? I eat TONNES of it. 70% of my diet is fat.... and I think this is what is keeping my energy up. I think if we do this diet we need to do it right, and doing it right requires you to eat a lot of good fats. Dont be scared of gaining weight, like Bee says, your weight will even out. Howevr eating all this fat does require me to work out more... I am gettign cellulite... EWWW. But I think for now, I need to just stick with the diet and not worry so much about my body image. I think you need to do the same. My skin isnt great either, but I am STICKING WITH IT. I am determined to do this right. No one around me really supports me on this either, but like you tol me before we have to do this for ourselves!! AHHHHH!!! I feel like screaming right now, because I know how frustrated you are. YOU CAN DO THIS.
Try doing these three things if you can:
Eat larger meals.
Get more sun/vitamin D.
Excercise more/have an organsm (BWAHAHAH okay that sounds stupid/weird but seriously how good do you feel after having one?? Sooo happy lol).
Anyway, good luck chickie!! I'm here to support, I wont be on as much as I used to but I'll be here! We need to support eachother!!

ahaha thank you so much for the support!! Sorry I'm bumping all the candida threads haha. Anyway yeah I think I need to eat bigger meals but even when I do = no energy. Now I don't even feel hungry often anymore. I'm sick of my body going through these hormonal jumps it's so annoying. I literally had a horrible upset stomach today for like hours and realized idc if my stomach is upset I have to eat because I was nowhere near my calories for the day. aaaaaaa. If I eat more fat I'm probably going to get more cellulite too. Yessss I'm taking vitamin D3 but I was off it for a couple days +. It's hard since that's my mom's supplement. I think I'll go out and buy some more vitamins soon.

Life is good. I was just making a short post to inform more posts will follow. I want to encourage those people who are making dietary changes in their lives. Never stop giving up and the more knowledge you have the better off you are. Anyways, I've been dabbling with creative food ideas for those of you who want a broader range of foods than maybe what your current diet restricts. Real food is medicine...
Feel free to post a message or question...
Cheers,

i'm on day 2 of my diet and i've been stir frying them (or olive or coconut oil. on medium heat tho), but i don't remember if i read somewhere that it sucks the nutrients out and i shouldn't eat them that way for this diet, but i may have remembered wrong.

- How do you get that much fat in your diet without eating nuts?
- Do you eat avocados?
- Don't you use probiotics?
- Do you eat a lot of vegetables? (I eat at least 1,5kg of veggies a day and wondering if that's too much)
- How much grams of meat do you eat daily? And is it grass-fed? Do you eat pork?
Cheers!
I'm having good results with the diet, no new acne, but healing is soooo slow.
