QUOTE (sweetpea92 @ Jul 17 2009, 09:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Just a little rant, I've found out that my Mum has been telling people that I'm on Roaccutane, her friends and workpeople and her boyfriend, who I don't know that well. I'm quite frustrated coz it's such a personal thing, both acne and the medications I take!!

My mom did that too!!!!!!

I think for people who don't have acne, they just don't realize what a big deal it is. To them it would be like if I told my co-workers, "Oh, my mom has high blood pressure so she's taking some meds for it."

Nobody except people who are struggling with acne understand how personal it is.

Nikkia: I know it's so frustrating and such a touchy subject!!

DAY 58:

sorry it's been such a long time but my computer has been infected with virus' so I must seek out alternative computers on which to post about my skin, which is continuing to dramatically improve! I'm almost at the two month mark and yesterday I had my derm appointment, where he checked the blood test I got last week, and he told me that my triglycerides have gone back to their normal level. yaay! and so that means I don't have to get any more blood tests! eee

I also don't have to go back to the derm for another 2 months!!! smile.gif

Everything is going super dooper, got another compliment on my skins improvment yesterday, but it's still no where near perfect. lots of red marks. no more backpain, no peeling skin, no hair loss.
Lots of luck!

Hey shortpinky will try to get some up in the next couple of days, computer is being a cranky old man!

DAY 71: Ahhhhh it getting better everyday! Got another compliment today, my cheeks are clear, with the exception of one or two. Still quite a bit of red marks unforch but they'll fade eventually. My face feels so smooth it's an amazing feeling!!!!

New side effect however, the inside of my nose is sore and flecks of blood come out when I blow it, pretty gross. I've just been sticking a bit of lip balm up there, even grosser, it feels disgusting... Also my legs have broken out in a massive rash, and it burns in the shower. My skin is really delicate, I bumped my hand on a door and peeled off a huge chunk of skin. Lips are still dry, no surprise there, but overall I am ecstatic!!!

Can only get better from here! Loving the non oily hair and my skin is still perfectly matte and powdery at the end of the day. smile.gif

SORBOLENE is a life saver, if nothings working for your dry skin please try it

Take care of yourselves

I was wondering, how do you take your dose? 2*20MG spreaded? Or do you take them at once?

Nice log, i'm now 1.5 week on 40 MG/day, before that i was 2 months on 30 MG/day and before that 5 weeks on 20 MG/day. smile.gif

Glad that it's going better and better for you. smile.gif

Hey thanks Lennart! I take both my pills with dinner, mainly because I can't be bothered to take one a breakfast and dinner, and I figure that the fattiest meal I eat is dinner, and I have heard that taking them with a fatty meal helps your body take it in or something along those lines... How is your course going for you?

Shortpinky - I'm glad someones reading my log tongue.gif it motivates me to keep posting in it. thanks for the lovely comments!

DAY ummm 73:

Rashes on legs are getting better with lots of moisturiser, but I just shaved and now my leg skin is peeling off, charming. Nose is still sore, but it's all worth it smile.gif

Also I don't know if it's related but my nails have be come really weak and keep breaking? Has this happened to anyone? Computer is working again so will try to update more and get some pics up.

Thats all I have to say, gonna watch Batman.

Have a great weekend

Haven't checked in for a long time, but your skin looks great! I highly recommend using extra-virgin olive oil on your skin at night for the red marks. I have maybe two red marks now after using olive oil. And it makes your skin super duper soft.

Hope things keep going uphill!

What a difference in just a few months! Keep going! Too many people give up too soon because they dont see quite results. Well done for sticking with this and fighting it- its working smile.gif

Hey everyone thanks for the comments! So nice to hear, or read..

DAY 90:

Eeee I have just finished month three, so month four here we go!! Just a few little tidbits that I have to share with you all.

Use olive oil with caution, I started to used it for about three days and it made me break out a bit but they are going away now. So I'm staying clear of the olive oil and letting my redness go away in it's own time.

My nose is so sore and gross I cannot even begin to describe it without making you all cringe. euk.

Lips are dry, peeling, red, sore, the usual but I'm used to it. I can't even remember what having smooth lips felt like.

Hair is dry and kinda crackley? I only wash it every couple of days or so.

My back was never "bad" bad but it's now completely spotless apart from the odd red mark.

I'm not sure if it's a side effect or an allergic reaction but I'm getting like blistery calluses on my hands and fingers and its freaking me out a bit. I've got a derm appointment soonish so I will bring it up with him but if it gets anyworse then I might go to the doctor. I have been doing a lot of writing and painting lately so maybe I'm doing it to myself? Anyone had anything similar?

I don't know how people can do it on doses more than 40mg, good on you, it must be hard work.

Byee, thanks again for the comments smile.gif

Hey Jediv thanks! I hope they go away soon too. smile.gif

DAY 95:

Had a small blood nose the other day, I don't think it was a proper blood nose, just a dribble...? I think maybe something had cracked up there yuck yuck yuck. I got my passport photo taken yesterday and I was so happy to see that with makeup on my skin looked pretty darn good in it.

tis all for now.

Just a quick edit, some more pics, showing where I broke out a bit after the olive oil, they're healing though, so I'm not going to get flustered.

Sorry sorry I'm going to edit again... this is the crazy blister thing on my finger that I have booked a doc appointment for. I can't see my derm coz he is away all month.

Your skin is looking a billion times better already, I'm sure you're gonna be all clear by the end of your course.
