Heya! Lots of posts
That's life and xdax - Thanks for the advice I will get me some blistex, does all blistex come with menthol? Because I don't really like the menthol tingle.
jediv - Thanks for the well wishes, right back at cha. As basically as I can sum it up, i 'spose, Roaccutane stops your body from making oil, which is pretty much the cause of pimples.
Had another mild headache today, but then again I had no water or food today as I was a busy bee.
I think the fish oil is really helping, No more back pain. I'm taking like 6 a day. On the back it says take 2 for normal supplement or take 4, 3 times a day for arthritis, so I'm going in between those two ammounts. It also says that fish oil lowers triglycerides which is a good thing because Roaccutane elevates them.
I HAVE TO STOP PEELING MY LIPS! I just caught myself doing it. I don't even notice. arrrgh.
Thanks for all the posts, everyone who has posted. I had no idea of how supportive this website is.
Good luck with everyone's treatments, truly hope they work for you
Checked the label and no, it doesn't.

Thats Life - Thanks!
DAY 30: ONE MONTH
yesssss, one month down! five more to go. I had my derm appointment yesterday, and it turns out my triglycerides have gone up as high as the normal level allows, so I have to be careful and try to eat more salads and oats and stuff. But kinda confusing as I eat quite healthy anyways. Any tips for lowering triglycerides people?
Also I told my derm about my milllld back pain and that I have been taking fish oil to help it, and he said don't bother taking they won't do anything. But I think he's just anti supplements, coz I've actually noticed less back pain but anyway. Oh, and on the back of my fish oil it says that it lowers triglycerides, but my derm says that he wasn't sure about that. whaaaa? This is so confusing. He also said that if my back pain gets worse by the time I see him next month then we may have to talk about stopping
Another random peeling place - my earlobes, I had to take my earrings out coz they were rubbing all the skin away, how charming...
I'd say I had a pretty good month, maybe it sounds like I whinge about the side effects but the only one that I always notice and is uncomfortable is my lips, apart from that it's been easy so far.
I just got up and I'm still half asleep so sorry if this post is a bit jumbled and doesn't make sense.

-Take omega 3 supplements (like fish oils
-Take vitamin C supplements
-Avoid foods/drinks high in sugar
-Eat lot's of fibrous foods like pasta, bread and wholemeal
I wouldn't worry about it, it should go back down after your course anyway.

DAY 31:
This morning I tried to exfoliate my lips with a toothbrush like I would sometimes do pre Roaccutane, and it just made my lips look ten times worse and it was slightly painful.
Lately I've been so tired, and now that its holidays I can sleep for 12 hours!? I just want to sleep alll the timmme...
Just random, I never forget to take my Roaccutane pills I almost look forward to dinner just so I can take them... which is weird coz I always froget to take other pills like my birth control and supplements and stuff.
Ok I'm off to have a lunch of triglyceride lowering bread or pasta.
Byee
EDIT eugh I hate photos but I've put some in for everyone. Two taken today and an oldie to not make me feel bad.

Looking at those pics above in comparison to the last ones that I posted I think my IB is fairly noticeable. I'm having a nasty breakout at the mo, on my cheeks and upper chest
Plus today I've noticed a bit of hair dropping when I brush it, but hopefully it was just because it was knotty, I will keep an eye on this, god I don't want hairloss.........
lips are bad, skin is bad. bad bad bad bad bad gah gah gah
A positive thing, I am going to Europe for christmas!! Booked flights today. yeeeeeeeeee
Oh oh, I got my hair cut yesterday, all the dry ends were cut off. I hate getting my hair cut, an hour under a fluorescent (spelling?) light is torture for the epidermically challenged.
just a question for anybody dropping by: Did/have you drunk on Roaccutane? How much? The effect it had? Will it raise my triglycerides?
A big hug to all

Grr my computer keeps dying while I'm mid post.
I think that I overreacted to the hair loss coz I haven't noticed anymore, hope it stays that way, and I will always be on the lookout.
I'm welcoming the return of dry patches. They are red, rashy patches on my hands and wrists and they are dry and flakey and sting when I moisturise them. Today I bought some sorbolene with tea tree oil lotion to use on them.
I still must be going through an IB, my cheeks and chest are flaring up like crazy. Honestly what happened to my skin, this time last year it was ten times better than it is now. Why skin why? We're on the same team!!!!!!
ummm thats about all I have to say. Anybody still reading this?
Hope all is well.

No more hair dropping that I'm aware of. I got a compliment from a friend who knows I'm on Roaccutane about how much my forehead has cleared up.
I also went to brush my hair back behind my ear today and left a long scratch along my forehead. Geesh.
Got a new pimple smack dang in the middle of my forehead.
I'd lovvvvvvve some imput into the drinking issue? Good idea bad idea please please please.

Yay!!
Day 42:
I have started using the sorbolene with tee tree oil on my face and a like it sooooo much better than cetaphil, my peeling is all gone and I wake up with really soft skin. I recommend it. Plus, when I put on cetaphil it kinda just sits on my skin and doesn't really soak in, and I don't like that. Go sorbelene!! Worth a try.
Best of luck 'taners

Holidays are almost over and I'm supposed to be doing my homework which I have left until the very last couple of days, typical, but I get so distracted and I just watched twilight.

But anyway, I guess you know by now how it was, so you can just tell us!
How is your IB, still going strong or getting better? Hope you had fun last night!

DAY 46:
Thanks Chaotic dreams, I had a lovely time!
I drank about seven drinks and was fine, I'm such a worry wart. At the moment I actually feel like my IB has calmed down, I'm noticing a slight improvement, my skin is smooth and healing but red marks make it look as bad as it has been. Bleh
Red patches on my hands are flaring up again so I'm including some pics of them. Sorbelene works wonders. I've also got red patched on my legs aswell and they all go shocking red when I have a hot shower.
Ok some pictures of my hands...

I about peed myself reading "epidermically challenged". That's brilliant, I've never heard that one.
Yes, I drink every other day or so and for whatever reason my tolerance has shot way up. I have not gotten drunk once because of this, which I suppose is okay. I have only woken up twice the next morning parched, otherwise it's as if I hadn't had several drinks the night before. My plan for drinking and Accutane is to indulge whenever I want up until a few days before my blood test. That way my body has a couple days to rest before heading to the derm. I will find out how that works out as I go to my derma next week. And I don't know about the triglycerides, I will have to ask about that one.

Ok I've posted enough for today
Argh I hate that, my grandpa had to take me to the first derm appointment to get Roaccutane, and then brought it up at a family dinner! The whole table, including my brother's girlfriend, started discussing both my skin and the medication while I was sitting there, how embarrassing is that!
*reads your last post* I'm breaking out around my lips from my lipbalm too, which just looks fantastic with the dry, cracked corners lol.

Nooo! sorry to hear that! And at the dinner table too...
It's strange how people think that because its your skin and everyone can see it it's not as personal, as say............. medication for a UTI.
DAY 50:
I stuffed up counting for a couple of days so today is day 50.
I got another compliment on my skin, hearing it was such a confidence boost. My skin is starting to improve, it's sooo smooth, but still lots of red marks. I realllly suggest trying sorbolene, it's amazing, I haven't peeled in ages and my makeup goes on so smooth.
I also bought another lipbalm, because buying lip balm is fun
Byee!!
