So, I wanted to make this post yesterday when I was pretty sure my cyst was on its way out, but I also wanted to wait until it was completely gone to be sure I'm not raving about something before it actually worked for me.

So I got a small sized cyst on Friday evening, which developed into a medium sized cyst on Saturday morning. I read all around for things on the internet after making a post on acne.org asking how to stop a small cyst from turning larger. Anyways, I found some great reviews (actually ON acne.org) for 100% tea tree oil, and how it works most effectively on larger zits like cysts and nodules, ect. So I got my hubby to pick some up for me, it was $8 CDN, and made by the same company that makes my favorite toner. (Newco - an Austrailian company).

I applied a few drops to a qtip and dabbed it on my cyst twice a day (okay, I actually applied it more like 3-4 times a day on Sunday). This morning, the cyst is completely flat.

I feel kind of like I cheated my cyst and that I have an awesome defense against any new ones that might spring up in the future.

If you guys haven't tried this already, and you have a cyst that you want to get rid of at a faster rate, give it a freakin try!

Try it, and if it doesn't work, then yell at me all you want! All I know is that I had a cyst on Friday, and it's Monday, and GONE.

Apparently tea tree oil has antibacterial agents, and great skin penetration. It stopped my cyst from developing any further, and shrunk it so damn quickly.

I wish I would have had this damn stuff over the past 4 months!

If anyone goes and buys it and tries it, post below and let me know how quickly your cyst goes away.

By the way, I didn't ice this cyst at all. I usually ice EVERY cyst I get, but the TTO brought down the redness and inflammation within hours, and kept it down if applied a couple times a day.

Anyways, I'm just happy I found something that actually worked, and I didn't waste MORE money on my skin. sideways.gif

Hey! It's by Newco. But any 100% tea tree oil should do ya! AND - I actually had the chance to try it out on a brand new cyst that developed kind of under my chin, and it stopped the cyst from forming completely. This stuff works freakin' AWESOME on brand new cysts if you catch them at the very beginning. GO BUY IT!! If it worked for my cysts, I'm sure it'll work for yours! Put a few dabs of tea tree oil on a q tip and then apply it only to the cyst, generously, and let it absorb. Try it on a cyst, and post how it goes!!! I'm excited for you to try it!

Manuka Oil is much stronger against acne and cyst wink.gif
"Natural Solutions" is a good brand.

I head it's 20-30 times stronger than tea tree oil, but I haven't tried it. I'll give it a try once my TTO has run out, so far I'm lovin the TTO!!! sideways.gif

After considering it, I will definitely go out and purchase the product. I'm tired of BP. I only have a few pimples at the moment, but they're stubborn. Thankfully I haven't had a cyst in over a year; just those irritating pustules.

Just my two cents on TTO - It was one of the first "miracle" products I used way way back. I found it very effective for a while, but it eventually just seemed to stop working for me. Maybe that's just me or the brand I was using or perhaps how I applied it.

When you get a papule, what does the beginning stage of it look like? Does it start off withan "under the skin" kind of bump? Put the TTO on at the first stages, the earlier the better! I apply is multiple times a day, until it fully flattens out. BP... There's no way I would try BP, I tried proactiv for a while (The repairing lotion IS BP) and it looked like I had a severe sunburn for days. Makeup was impossible to put on. I love salicylic acid based products, WAY less irritating and my skin agrees with it.

Good luck with the TTO - when you have a chance to try it, lemme know how it goes!

Hey someday,

Like a lot of things, I suppose you became immune to it. Shoot, somebody mentioned manuka oil, might want to give it a try if you're getting annoying cysts. I haven't tried it, but did some research after the person posted it, and it's supposed to be an even better antibacterial and more effective than TTO.

I ran out of a 15mL bottle of TTO that I purchased what was it like... 2 weeks ago?! I think I used the whole bottle on two zits, but wasted so many drops and probably only got maybe 10 drops out of the bottle! I realized that applying it to a qtip wastes SO much, so I went and bought another 30mL bottle, and I think that applying it directly to your finger tip and THEN putting it on a zit preserves the product. Also, I found saw that 100% TTO got 82% on Makeupalley.

I like to read the "acne-prone" people's reviews on MUA.

I totally agree. TTO worked so well for me for about 4-5 months, and then I just started breaking out again. Damn mutant acne, keeps "morphing" to avoid me! eusa_wall.gif

I'm on a Neem Oil kick right now (see Neem thread). eusa_dance.gif

Tried it. Didn't work for me on my cysts. But I read it's good alternative to BP. It was worth a try. Thanks for posting your experience. Glad it worked for you.

The shelf life/stability of tea tree oil (open bottle): not longer than 3 month!!!
Frequent contact/oxidation with oxygen make it agressive!
The shelf life/stability of manuka oil (open bottle): longer than 12 month!!!
In order to fight acne you need the very best quality of the oils!!!

Nuts! I don't think I'll have a problem with keeping it for longer than three months but thank you for posting that for everyone to see! My TTO also has an eye dropper type opening, and it isn't exposed to much oxygen when opening it. It has a very air tight seal too!

I really want to try manuka oil, where abouts did you get yours? I find if I apply TTO too many times a day, my skin gets a little red and irritated (I can totally deal with that if it takes care of a cyst-to-be!) but, does that mean the manuka oil would be even more drying, or just more effective!

Very excited to try!

Nice! I'm actually a little scared to apply it all over my face, even though I'm so sure it'll be fine, but my skin is looking so good right now, I don't want to chance it! How do you find the smell? I actually enjoy the mintiness of it!

Does Tea tree oil work for people with very sensitive skin? My skin is always inflamed, nothing I use ever seems to calm it down. Well there was this organic soap I bought once at the LA fair it was green and it was the best soap I ever used everyone remarked on how radiant my skin was. Sadly, I never found the soap and I lost the packaging so I was not able to look it up online. Anyway...back to the topic at hand. I want to use tea tree oil but my skin is really sensitive, I know you are supposed to dilute it in water, but if I am just going to use a couple of drops for some actives how do I go about diluting it in water if I am applying it with my finger? Do i mix it in a little cup or something? LOL

I had a zit/cyst showing up yesterday. Last night I put water on a Q-tip and a drop of tea tree oil, applied it to the zit/cyst and surrounding area. When I woke up this morning, it was practically gone. I'll put some more on later and I'm sure by tomorrow, it will have totally disappeared. Awesome stuff.

Hey!

Well my skin isn't too sensitive so I can handle the full strength 100% TTO. I'd say its really gentle anyways though! I would just put a couple of drops on a qtip and then apply as a spot treatment. I've never tried applying it to my entire face, but it really does work well on deep cystic zits or papules and pustules.
