im sorry if this has been asked before somewhere, but is TCA safe for asians with dark skin tone ? would i have a higher chance of hypopigmentation? scarring? etc. b/c of my skin tone, im not allowed to do ablative surgeries/laser resurfacing on my scars, which really upsets me.

The EGF products I am using are supposedly stronger than the ReVive.

Can you tell me where you obtained this EGF from?

Yes I use Hyaluronic acid serum on my skin every night and after TCA cross treatment, I love the results it plump up my skin, help heal faster and incite the collagen to rebuild. I get it from mytcapeel website.

We need somebody new with good, untouched before and after CROSS photos. lol.gif biggrin.gif

I'm still inspired by Reilly's pictures, though. wink.gif My scars right now look similar to how hers looked before. I hope mine turn out that wonderfully after a few treatments.

Is anyone else astounded by these photos?

By Reilly's photos, it would be hard to say that this person's scars have not disappeared. OK, 99% gone for all you purists who say that complete eradication is physically impossible (which I do not believe).

Anyways, I think that it is a bunch of crap that scars can't disappear. Reilly's scars are essentially gone. I know photos can be deceiving, but I truly don't see how I could ever detect any scarring on this person's face.

They may have slightly rougher skin than someone that never had acne but I think that this is very different from having visible craters.

Thanks for the amazing photos Reilly!

for anyone who has received a tca cross procedure, about how much did it cost? i'm wondering if i should do this over a glycolic acid peel, but money is the main issue.

I've read this thread before. I am a little skeptical. The lightening is different and there is one picture that it looks like she touched it up with photoshop. People even commented on it and she went to say that it was the way she had her make up on.

Otherwise her scars are not gone...she just changed them into a different, less noticeable type and if these pictures are true then they might as well be gone.

Puzzling.

this post was the reason that made me try TCA cross. and i'm glad i did.
too bad i didn't take any before pictures 4 years ago. but after 4 years of tca cross(which i'm still doing it) i think i made the right decision.

I had mostly icepick scars a few shadow scars and enlarged pores, similar to reilly but little bit better than reilly's. so far is hard to tell you the a fixed % of improvement but i would say some scars are 90%++, the range would be 60-90 atlease.

i wish i had taken a picture back then, but i didnt have a camera. and i still dont have one.
lol i'm still a student and don't have a fixed income.

After almost 4 years of experience with the TCA cross, and tried different cream and stuff.
i realize putting nothing on is the best.

what i do is really simple.

i only perform cross during long holidays so i dun have to go out and put on sunscreen and lotions etc. beside it takes over 1 week atlease for the scrab to fall if the cross was successful.

during the period i only wash my face twice a day, morning and night. i wash my face very very gentle that it doesnt bother my scrabs at all! from my experience the more stuff u put on your face the faster the scarb falls. and the scrab fall the fastest shown no to little imporvement. atlease for me.

the scars that improved the most was the one that took a long time for the scrab to fall and after that the scar was very red but it got leveled by alot.

i force myself to eat healthy, drink the right amount of water, eat a mutivitamin and omega3 pill everyday. also i drink green tea, not the tea bag ones. so instead putting on cream and vitamins on the face, i consume them instead.

it takes some time to understand your scars, because all your scars could be different, age, size type etc. for me, those that are old and stubborn i cross more agressively. those that are new require less. i had a very old and deep boxcar scar, about 1.5cm deep i went so agressive that i took over 2 weeks for the scarb to fall, and ofcus it improved by alot. this scar still bothers me alot cus it's located at my smiling line, but it's still better than before by alot.

TCA cross is a method that requires patients and persistence. it could take more than 3 times to show improvements. when your scar heal completely you can cross it again.

i strongly suggest anyone who had icepick scars to give tca crossa try, it is cheap, easy and safe to perform. you can cross one scar if youre afriad.

good luck

Wauw thanks for this usefull reply. Btw...I think you mean 1.5mm...can't imagine a 1.5cm deep scar.
My question: do you still see improvement, even after 4 years of using this method?

I have some hope that this will be the thing for me surprised.gif I'm only 18 and my scars are still very young. So I have some confidence it will be allright.
Can TCA Cross help on rolling scars too? And should I wait until the redness is gone and my scars don't re-model (don't know the right word, im Dutch:P)?

yeah lol youre right not cm...well i couldnt measure it but it around "." this deep and looks like a box. my deepest scar.

yeah i'm still seeing improvements, like i said before, u can wait until your scar is healed and cross it again.

yes it is better to do it when you're young i start to cross when i'm 18-19.

TCA helps most scar, but it is most effective on icepick. Rolling is abit harder because the width is bigger, filter would be more effective. If your rolling scar is not that big u can try TCA cross, but u have to cross a few times within the scar.

yes you're right, you should wait until your scar is healed and not red. if you cross it too fast, you could interfere the re-model process.

also dont give up too early. i didnt see much results on my 1-2 cross. after you cross your scar it looks worse and red, but when it starts to heal, it got better.

Hi there, o o, Could you please tell me where you got your TCA from and what percentage you've been using???? Also, what do you mean when you say you are treating scars aggressively? I got 50% from Loganwood and I touched each scar with a toothpick and they all frosted but none of them really scabbed, just very light flakes on the 3rd day...although the scars still turned red and were deeper and some of them are now filled in more than they were before.

I called Richard at Loganwood and he told me that I should be crossing each scar 3x... what I mean is, you take the toothpick and you press it into the scar and it frosts, and then you press it again, it frosts and then, one more time...

i got my tca cross from here. well about 4 years ago. so i'm not sure if it is still the same thing. the one i got was 100%.
http://www.mytcapeel.com/catalog/item/2806386/2294220.htm

yeah...well you either cross a few times on the same scar or you press the toothpick on scar longer. that's how i do it.

when u cross it agressive it actually sting alot more than normal. it made my tears came out lol.
and these scars have the most improvement.

well for me it takes 1-2days for the scab to form. i always get scab even i cross it very gentle.
my successful one can last over 2 weeks. so if you scar doesnt scab i think you may want to poke a few more times.

The scabing part is very important for TCA cross, not only it helps your scars to heal but it also protects from sun damage and bacteria. when skin is in the process of healing, UVA and bacteria can affect the results.

you can put EGF cream or whtever cream after the scab has fallen, but i really suggeest you dont put anything at all. try to keep the scab on as long as possible.

Tca cross is treating scars only by pressing tca onto them or inside ice-picks with a wooden applicator , usually a toothpick. high concentrate acid ie 100%

tca peel is putting it on your entire face or certain areas of face with a cotton bud or pad. usually 25% acid concentrate.

im not good at explaining things but just google it for more info.
