Definitely ice it a few times a day and apply either apply benzoyl peroxide or hydrocortisone to it a few times as well. You should notice improvement after even a day or so.

Go to the derm and have it injected it with cortisone. I had that done yesterday and Ive had it done several times before. It hurts but it makes the pimple disappear completely within forty eight hours.

You go to the dermatologist and he or she will inject it

Do not apply topical hydrocortisone. Please see last link in my signature for suggestions/tips on what to do with a cyst/pimple/zit.

Topical hydrocortisone is not the same as injected cortisone in the effects. One pimple doesn't need to have an injection unless it gets very large. Why spend the money for that? And the time making the appointment, keeping the appointment, when you can just take care of it simply and easily (and cheaply) at home.

Did I say anything about applying hydrocortisone cream to the face? No I didnt. Ive never heard of a cystic pimple that isnt large. Well, shes having a hard time taking care of it as did I. Mine lasted three weeks. Ive never had a problem getting in to see the derm

Don't cortisone injections costs around $100? That's a lot to shell out, but if the OP is loaded I guess it doesn't matter.

Exactly.

Please look up the side effects of topical hydrocortisone. It is not a good idea to use even for short periods of time on the face; there are many side effects.

I don't but would'nt mind paying to get rid of this! the problem is that here in Montreal is not easy to get a derm appointment, sometimes it takes over a month..but I haveone scheduled for march 23, so guess I'll just have to be patient rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the advice...I read the info and so far I've just iced the cysts(cause I have 2 now!)I had never tried icing before... I must say it really made the pain I felt on one of them almost go away!and it's slightly less swollen..I'll go buy polysporin and ibuprofen tomorrow..

*whew* Glad to hear it. The ice really helps. smile.gif The polysporin isn't absolutely necessary but it does help reduce the risk for PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation). The ibuprofen also simply helps reduce the redness and swelling. Aleve is also useful and there's a post somewhere about using Aleve (naproxen sodium) to help reduce breakouts associated with the menstrual cycle.

It is fine to take Aleve if you smoke.

The person in my avatar is no one in particular. Found it on the internet.
