Ive recently been haviing a problem with the skin on my face becoming sooo dried out and unhealthy looking. Now i originally thought my sever allergies were causing this but people have told me it may be due to the fact that i recently moved from south florida to chicago and the winter climate and use of central heat may be affcting my skin appearance also? I do constantly use a facial moisturizer but doesnt seem to be helping. Any suggestions?
Hey Im new and have a question...

Welcome to Chicago. Yeah, the winters here can be harsh, and the dry air (made dryer by having the heat on) can wreak havoc on your skin. My hands get so dried out in the winter that they bleed. Maybe you could try adding a few drops of jojoba oil (or extra virgin olive oil, which is what I use) to your moisturizer. It helped me a lot.

You can also try the Alpha Hydroxy cream. I live in the high desert and have been experiencing the same problems since I moved out here. I apply alpha hydroxy to the red areas of my face everyday and it seems to control it. Read up on alpha hydroxy, it is actually made to heal the skin and works better than any facial moisturizer that I have tried in the past. If that does not work you can go crazy and use some hydrocortisone. Be careful which one you use though. The products with extra moisturizers added may clog the pores and create more acne. I hope this information helps.
