So I've been reading these posts for weeks because about 4 months ago I started taking Lutera bc pills. They were HORRIBLE! I broke out almost from day 1, and waited the 3 months for my body to adjust, but my acne just got worse, every day. Large, cystic acne on my chin and jawline. I was on minocycline, got laser treatments, and put on so many different topicals that my face practically peeled off! All of this and i STILL had pimples. My doctor switched my pill to Yaz, and almost immediatley my skin started clearing. She told me that on the 3rd month I should start seeing results in my skin. I only have about a week left of my first pack of YAZ. Don't get me wrong, I'm still breaking out, however, it's definitely not as bad as when I was taking Lutera. Some initial side effects from Yaz were only during the first two weeks. I was a little more emotional, felt fatigued, and was nautious. Those symptoms are long gone, and I feel really good on Yaz. I hope that by the third month my acne will completely subside.

Everyone is different, you just have to find what pill will work for you. Unfortunately, it's a waiting process. The bad posts about Yaz had me really worried, but so far, it's working out for me. Good luck to everyone. If you have any "miracle" advice for treating acne I'd love to hear it!

I was also told that 3 months is the 'magic' marker, but saw dramatic clearing during the first month. I've been clear (no new spots) since half-way through the first pack, and I'm most of the way through my second. Let's hope it stays that way for me and that you continue improving! Sorry to hear about your awful Lutera experience, but like you said everyone is different and you can't know how you'll react until you try it...

congrats ! ! ! i hope things keep improving for you.

i've been on Yaz for three and a half months now, and though my results weren't as immediate, i have noticed a major decrease in those nasty, under-the-skin cysts that i used to get twice a month like clockwork (around ovulation, then again around menstruation). hooray.
