My doctor prescribed epiduo, Cetaphil, and erythromycin benzol peroxide to me. I've been using those acne treatments for like 9 months now and my skin improved a little but I still have blackheads and acne ad I don't think this stuff works for me but I still use it. I have another doctors appointment in October so maybe my doctor will perscribe something else

Need more information than that.
How long have you been using epiduo? When and how frequently do you use it? What is your cleansing/toning/moisturising routine? How is your face 'ruined'?
Personally I have had FANTASTIC results with epiduo. My skin is nearly 100% clear, scars are fading. I have one spot left. I cleanse with Clinique Acne Solutions Bar, tone with rooibos tea, ACV, lemon juice own mix and moisturise with Cetaphil. Skin hasn't been this clear for YEARS, very pleased with Epiduo.
The advice I can give is that once a day at night time is plenty. I used it night and day against the advice of my derm for a few weeks (I figured that the more I used it, the quicker it would disappear!) once I started using it correctly it's been getting better and better.

i was prescribed epiduo along with doryx for a recently horrific bad breakout.
i wasn't told much on this stuff
i was told to only use it at night, some say use it twice a day if it doesn't irritate you; it doesn't irritate my skin at all, unless applied on open wounds.
I was given little instruction on this. Like when to apply it? (i applied it right after showering) and went to bed 30mins later.
What about other products? should a person use toners i.e like lavender and aloe vera? Zinc cream after?
What about moisturizers? I know that with continual use i will experience irritation and skin peeling as that's what it does but their are so many kinds of moisturizers and along with it face washes for morning use i dont know which a person should invest in that will aid in healing.
Anyone got any ideas?
thx

I've been using epiduo for over three months and have seen very encouraging results; there are some of my before and after pictures in my thread my epiduo thread
My dermatologist recommended that I use it once a day preferably at night. Initially I ignored this advice using it twice a day with very unpleasant results.
It is best to use a pea size amount for each affected area.
My derm recommended using a gentle cleanser and moisturiser - she prescribed Cetaphil. She commented that it is best to use a non foaming non soapy cleanser.
She did say that toners were unnecessary but I could use one if I really wanted. She said that the more gentle the better - I use 3/4 rooibos tea 1/4 ACV and a dash of teatree oil.
Just be really gentle with your skin, don't attack it all at once. Epiduo is rather intense so keeping the rest of your regimen as simple and kind to your skin as possible is important.
You will probably experience some flaking and redness at first, this will fade. I personally did not experience an initial breakout, however, during the first 6 weeks any spots that are lying under the skin will probably get a head. You might be lucky enough to see these dye much quicker than you are used to due to the Epiduo.
Peace x

Hi guys,
Well lately I was prescribed Epiduo for some acne near my jaw line. I've been using it for 3 weeks now and absolutely nothing... No burning sensation, and no results.. I was told to use it only once a day but after no results I uped the dosage to twice a day... still no burning. Personally its more of a lotion then anything, and I'm unbelievably frustrated. I hope anyone else who uses it has better results.

It could definitely take a good 3 months to see results, wish these meds worked faster than that. I wouldn't use it twice a day.

I've been on epidou for about 3.5 months along with minocycline and am very pleased so far. I use the epidou at night and minocycline before bed and in the morning. I haven't had any burning problems or anything, I also eased into, using it every other day initially (my derm recommended that) until my skin was used to it. I also use aczone that my derm gave me after the first two months to use only in the morning. He also suggested using cerave face wash in the morning and night which I do. I did have a bad initial breakout that took about 3 weeks to get over but it got only better from there. At first I didn't use a moisturizer but I do now after my skin started to get a little dry. (which is also cerave moisirizing lotion) I only moisturize in the morning though. Well that's my experience with epidou. Feel free to ask any questions.
