Hey yall,
I am new to the board, 21 years old, and am thoroughly frustrated. My job requires the highest in personal appearance and yet I am unable to keep my face, chest, and back clear. I have a naturally oily face and get flushed very easily. I had originally speculated that the blood flow to my face had something to do with my acne problem. I still don't know. I have been undr a lt of stess the last seven months but I just got back to the states where stress is greatly reduced and am still breaking out worse than ever. I have tried all sorts of products: proactiv, acnezine, saliyic acid, benzol peroxide, and even a sulfur treatment. I have had limited to no results, even with different concentrations of the active ingredients.
My breakouts are very spotty. It seems like I wake up every morning with a new set of whiteheads and red area to contend with. Unless accutane is available over the counter, I am afraid it is out of the question. If anyone at all has any ideas that might help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you
I need help

Not as pricey, are you on any form of birth control? That brings relief to some folks.

Are any of the cleansers you listed in a ph balanced formula? Too much of one ingredient dries me out and it can make you break out even more.
The fact that you keep having problems and have seen no improvement is something I can sympathize with.
I don't think Accutane is a cure all and is just too expensive as well as not worth the side effects.
I would try looking into threads about acne (blackheads white heads, etc.) I've read some posts that have helped me more already. You may try listing your skin regimen and how your skin reacts. That can help people see your problem more clearly if you were more detailed in how your skin is driving you nuts.
I've heard lot's of positive things about AHA lotion and Murad. My skin is really sensitive and yet it just won't stop breaking out either. I can't use anything with scrubbing beads in it as it just makes my skin so much worse! Have you tried any facial masks to help control the oil on your face?
When I had oily skin (mine's dry now) I found that Mint Julep mask helped suck out the oil without drying me out. I can't use it now but it worked for me before I took Accutane.
I hope I've helped.

hi Sandy. well you know very well that stress causes acne. you say that you're back in the US not as stressed, but note that stress doesn't yo-yo. it's like blood pressure: easy to get up, hard to get down. your body is still trying to come down. as long as you are frustrated over something your skin will flame up.
are you in the military? did your acne become an issue our worse when you enlisted?
for now you've just got to relax and not jump between products but rest and be as cool as you can.
