I took a multi-vitamin for over a year. I think it had a negative effect on my skin to be honest with you. Most multi-vitamins contain Iodine which is believed to aggravate acne-prone skin.

So explain to me after I ran out of multivitamin last week or so. I have never felt better and my acne has dropped done to maybe 3 whiteheads now. all i take is a zinc pill everyone once and while.

I think its hilarious. I also have all types of energy now and just get my vitamins from natural sources.

carrots, apples, frozen blueberries,rasperberries, mango's,

never again am Im wasting money on a useless (if not harmful) multivitamin

well i just felt like ranting about something. im sure no one will ever see this.

prezk,
right on dude. our bodies dont need that synthetic B.S. Experts say that most people get an adequate amount of vitamins through a balanced diet. Just think, years and years ago people didnt take vitamins everyday and they got along just fine.

Omega 3 Softgels 1,000mg per day
Vitamin A 50,000 I.U. as Retinol palmitate once per day
Vitamin C 2,000mg per day taken with meals to lessen gi discomfort
Vitamin E 400 I.U once per day.

I took multivitamins long ago, but i find taking them separately (the ones you really need) optimizes their purpose.

Omega Three plus A, C and E. Makes skin acne-free. eusa_dance.gif

I used to take a B-complex, Vitamin C and Flaxseed Oil capsules. They did nothing for my skin. And while taking them, my skin broke out even more. I bought the vitamin c and flaxseed specifically for my skin, but go figure, I had cyst-like pimples form during the times I was taking them. I'm not sure if they really had anything to do with the acne I had at the time, but you would at least think they would help, but they did absolutely nothing. And I took them for a few months too, giving them enough time to work, but they didn't. I don't remember if the B-complex had biotin in it to. Biotin can cause pimples in some pple, while others take it and are fine.

Multivitamin
Calcium + Vitamin D
Magnesium (for assisting with the calcium absorbtion, mostly)
Fish Oil
Skin/Hair/Nail

This is currently what I'm taking, and my skin is in the best condition it's ever been (along with being on Dan's regimen for four weeks now). Also, I've taken a multivitamin all of my life and have noticed no adverse affect on my acne. smile.gif

I think that is so true! I have been taking multivitamins for about 5 years now before then I never ever had acne which were my high school days. Now I have horrible acne! I feel like my skin texture is bad to from all the things I have used to try and clear I have stopped taking the multi vitamins and we will see what happens smile.gif

I'm not sure if this thread is closed or not..lol..but I don't think multi vitamins could have negative effects, let alone cause acne.
Multi-vitamins ensure a steady balance of vitamins and minerals, especially if you are over-dosing on other vitamins or minerals. For example, consuming more than 100 mg Zinc, could upset Copper levels which can be balanced out having the Multi-vitamin.

I've tried taking multi vitimins and protin shakes but they seem to make things worse.

Maybe you're better trying single vitimins. It's a pain but its better than f*cking up your skin.

I started taking a multivitamin about a month ago and I swear my skin has improved. It hasn't cleared up completely, but there's a significant (to me) reduction of acne. The brand I use is Centrum. I did not thoroughly read the instructions to check for potential acne triggers, but maybe I should've ... ? I think there is iodine in it. The thing is, around the same time I started using an aloe vera gel product from Nu Skin.

This is the problem with using topicals or medications at the same time ...

Anyway, I will continue taking my multivitamin (and aloe vera gel).

I don't take a multivitamin, but I take MULPTIPLE vitamins for my skin, including:

AcneScript
B-complex
Vit A
Vit C
Vit D
chromium
ACV pills
Curcumin/tumeric
Fish oil
niacinamide

and while I'm not sure this is why I'm finally CLEAR, it certainly contributed!!
