Question about the vinegar method.

This is what I've started doing:
apply vinegar solution (1 part vinegar, 2 parts water) on clean face and let dry 10-20 minutes.
Wash or rinse off.
Moisterize.

Should this be as effective as leaving it on?
I'd really rather not leave vinegar on my face--I'm not too fond of the smell.
Will this help with active acne?
I'm having more of a problem right now with actual zits than scarring, though most of my zits are the notorious red marks--the "before-and-after" marks.

Washing it off (after letting it dry 10-20 minutes) sounds ok to me. I too am not fond of the smell. Usually, I leave it on, then after it dries I can no longer smell it. That is, unless I go workout, then the body heat just re-activates the smell. :-s
