Hi everybody,

Like most, I've stumbled across the site seeking some sort of comfort from my acne. I suffered through high school and my early twenties, but the past few years I've had relatively healthy skin. I'm 29 yo now and for the most part my acne is in control....most times.

I think that is why my latest breakout is affecting me so much. Occasionally I get these very deep pimples that are extremely painful and seem to swell the entire area surrounding.
I woke up this morning before work to find half of my cheek very red and swollen this morning. The area was extremly hard and tend to the touch. Although I wanted to try and extract the pore, I left it alone because I know it would just make it worse. I don't want to use concealer or anything that would further clog my pore, but am extremely depressed and embaressed. I work in a sales job, and I feel like everybody is starring at this growth on my cheek all day long.
It also affects my relationship with my fiance because I don't want to be around her because I'm embarressed. I just want to go home and go right to bed in hopes that when I wake up the pimple will improve some. I just want my face to be normal. I know I'm probably over reacting, but it's hard to say that when I get a sick feeling in my stomach leaving the house in the morning with a large cyst like pimple on my cheek for the world to stare at.

Hey, the best thing you can do with your fiance' is to be open about the problem. If you let her know that it is really bothering you it could make you more comfortable with being around her. Just a suggestion, thats something I could be work on too. But since I'm in highschool there is really no one to talk to && little free time. && teens can be really cruel to others at times. =/

Visit my page && look at my blogs and skin pics.

I say talk to your fiance. I mean if she's your fiance you should be able to talk to her. Tell her how you feel. I'm sure she still loves you with or without the acne.

What Jake said is completely true. I got frustrated about my acne and scars a couple days ago when i was with my boyfriend and he asked me what was wrong and i told him and he told me he loves me for ME no matter what. Your fiance probably feels this way for you too.

And yea going to work with a huge zit is not fun people stare at it and you wonder what there thinking it is etc. But all you can do is just get through it.

I agree with everyone else that says you need to talk to your finace about it because all you are doing right now is pushing her away. It sucks but try not to let acne get you down. I got cystic acne last year and went to see a derm and after about 3 months on 100mgs a day of doxy and 8% BP application I decided to go on Accutane. The Doxy and BP did not help at all. The accutane kicked the cystic acnes butt. I am 3 months post tane and my skin looks great. This website has really useful information to help you clear your skin. Please try not to let acne ruin your relationships with others. Don't let acne win!

Thanks for your support everybody. I did chat with her, and surpisingly she really didn't think it was a big deal at all.
