Okay, I just started using the Oxy Face Wash a few days ago.

At first, I thought it was all getting much better very quickly and I was super excited. But now the spots are coming back with a vengeance and so I'm thinking that the clearness was probably a fluke? Now that my skin is getting worse again very quickly... I'm wondering if this Oxy 10% BP Maximum face wash causes an initial break out?

I'd appreciate if anyone could share advice/experience with this product.

Thanks smile.gif

I wouldn't recommend using OTC crap to be honest , it never works.. and on top of that, you're probably using one of the worst irritating facewash ever. You should use a mild cleanser like cetaphil . Have you seen a Derm? if not , that would be the best thing to do because let's be honest , the face wash you're using isn't going to do anything but irritate your skin like crazy. So please , go to a derm if you can and stop using this face wash . There's no such thing like initial break out with that kind of crap , it's just high concentration of BP drying out your face.

Oh, I've already been through everything with a dermatologist. Literally. List it and I've tried it: Differin, Benzaclin, Ziana, Retin-A, Doxy, Tazorac, Clindamycin... and more. Not one of them worked for me. sad.gif I've done Accutane as well, and it worked for a few months and then the spots came back. I can't afford to see a dermatologist nowadays, so I'm looking for the next best thing I can possibly get.

But trust me, if I was able to, I would have gone to the derm ages ago and begged him for Accutane again. It was the only thing that ever truly worked for me for any length of time.

Aww really , that's not fun sad.gif I didn't know that. If you ever get the chance to go on accutane again , that would be a good idea because I've heard that the success rate improves for the second treatment but right now , I don't know what to say or recommend. I'd definitely use a gentle face wash like cetaphil if I was you because the one you're using is way too drying and when it's too drying , your face will produce more oil to defend itself from the dryness and the result might be more acne in the long run

I use to use oxy fash wash bc my mom said a guy she worked with had horrible acne and he used all of the products and now his face is clear, but this was a long time ago. So i got it when i was younger and it worked ok at first and then i broke out and it didnt go away bc i usually finish a bottle before i try something else. I would say know that a face wash like that is too stong for daily use. I would really consider something gentler. I tried most of the gentle ones at the drug stores with no luck. So good luck with the oxy, i would use that maybe just at nite or every other day.

LOVE THIS STUFF!
It really helped out when I had a bad break out on my chest, I used the face pads until they started burning, don't know why that started.

I HOPE This might help a little,.....I learned the hard way that cleansers aren't the answer for acne. after two years of trial and error with pretty much every medicated cleanser on the market i started using a very basic and gentle cleanser (my dermatologist recommended olay total effects cream cleanser) and made sure that i was persistent with topical treatments (like dan's regimine suggests). By the way i have very dry skin, just water will make my skin feel tight.

IF YOURE USING BP to treat acne, then you would be better off using a topical gel or lotion that stays on the skin. By applying it and letting your skin absorb it, then it the bp will be much more effective....the oxy face wash might be drying your skin out too much, depending on how many times a day you wash your face with it. I Highly recommend dans regimine. Youre skin WILL improve, and if its not as effective as you like, try using a higher percentage bP....but make sure its not in the cleanser. Hope you find your way!

Try the 5% Sensitive OXY Wash. It's been working great for me.
