I have spent 10's of thousands of dollars (I am embarrassed to admit) on trying to deal with my sometimes clear and sometimes broken out skin. At my skin's worst, I probably have about 5-6 visible pimples and I tend to heal very very well, when I do not have pimples you cannot see any reminents (sp) of acne, so I am lucky in that part... I have total hormonal breakouts and I am just tired of it.

I have done: microdermabrasion, omnilight, peels, bought every new acne treatment out there, no matter what the cost... I am also very impatient when something doesn't work.

I just ordered Dan's products and will try his regimen... am I going in the right direction?

firstly, it's so great that you acknowledge that. red marks and pigmentation are a bitch.

Are you going in the right direction???

possibly. make sure you check out the nutritional section. that's where i started on this site (back last summer), and it led me to realise that i was intolerant to milk (well, technically it led my to realise i might be intolerant to milk - a rather overpirced test told me i was intolerant). along with that i bought a red/blue acne light (check out that section as well) and now, as long as i steer clear of chocolate and excess sugar, i can be 95% clear.

i have personally never tried Dan's regimen, but for some people here it has really worked. however, it never appealed to me, as the thought of so much BP on my face is a bit scary - im worried i might do more damage by drying it out excessively. good luck!

I have been off dairy, sugar, wheat, white flour and potatoes for years... I totally flare up when those things are in my body... i also have a red blue light and the red does wonders, but the blue not so much in my opinion, i have acnelamp and its okay...

i would say, my face is 90% clear, but i want to be perfect and when im not i dont even like to leave the house!

if your breakouts are hormonal, i'm not sure how much topicals are going to help in terms of prevention....I like the topicals i'm using a lot (you can check my log if you;re interested), but i still get a monthly pimple of two. You could try drinking lemon water when you know you're due to have a breakout, I think that it might help. good luck

Don't worry Nicolemarie. Some people on here can be very snappy and rude. But most people are great on here! I'm still trying to figure out why some people on here feel the need to be so negative:)
