All I can say is that I'm on a topical retinoid, and the last time I used an upper lip cream, the skin there became very red, scaly, and irritated. I know that retinoids significantly thin your skin, and that your skin also becomes much more sensitive and much more easily damaged.
Basically, I think you should definitely follow her advice and stop using it for 7 days before waxing, because it's entirely possible that you'll regret it if you don't.

I waxed at home while on Tazorac when I ripped the strip off some of my skin came off to
. I would do like she said and wait the 7 days!

I had the skin around my eyebrows torn off because of waxing on Tazorac. Now I ask just to be tweezed. It takes longer, but it's worth keeping my skin. I don't think I could go 7 days without Taz without breaking out.

Just thread, shave, or tweeze. You're not gonna be able to stop using tazorac for 7 days without completely screwing up the process and losing your chance at clear skin
