Hello peeps
my name is steve and im 27. i had really bad acne around 10 years ago. after trying main different topical lotions and anti biotics my doctor finally sent me to a dermatologist. the dermatologist took one look and said roaccutane is the best thing for you. i was put on roaccutane for 3 months and to honest with you all, it was one of the best things ive ever done!! after 3 months my acne had gone and my skin was clear. i know that roaccutane/accutane gets a bad press, i know it has a lot of side effects. but the chance of you gettin all or many of them is slim. the manufacturer has to list them just in case. i got the normal side effects i.e dry skin, dry eyes, dry lips etc and it was worth it. i think some people bad mouth roaccutane as they have a different level of tolerance to the side effects.
so in short, if you have really bad acne and all other stuff has failled then ask your doctor about roaccutane.
at the moment im having a course of skin peels and microderabrasion done. the reason why i hear you ask? well i noticed about a year ao that my skin started to go a little dull and lifeless, there were also a few spots and red marks appearing. i started to try new and different soaps. i went from tryin boots own brand, then to clean and clear, then to murad. but nothing worked. then i read an article about microdermabrasion and how it can rejuvenate your skin and help with spots. so i went and had a chat with a nurse at the harley medical group. it was expensive, but the condition of my skin was p**sing me off. so i went a head with it. they also recommended a face wash and moisturizer which to be honest im find them very good.
i like to think i have a little bit of experience with dealing with acne and bad skin. i have also set up a blog talking about my day to day life with my skin and how i get on having microdermabrasion. its only in its first few days but if you wish to ask me anything you can do there. thanx
