so this is my first post on here...
i'm a 26 year old girl and have had problems with my skin for the past two years. It has been awful dealing with this everyday of my life, and it holds me back so much, even though i shouldnt let it.
I avoid alot of social situations because i am embarrased of what people will think, even though those close to me tell me they dont even notice the pimples and the redness.
So i finally went to a dermatologist last month and was given a treatment plan...It was minocycline pills (not sure how to spell it), metro lotion in the morning and finacea at night. So far it hast been two and a half weeks and so far it doesnt seem much better. I only took the antibiotic pills for about 3 days and did some research and decided it wasnt worth the side effects to try that, and the headaches i was already getting were beyond normal. So i'm hopeing just the gel and lotion will be enough. My skin is actually much softer but I'm getting little pimples that i usually didnt get before. I dont know if they were just already clogged and now coming to the surface due to the meds but it stinks. I just want clear skin. My face also seems to be a little redder than it was before i started but I have only gotten one cyst type thing since i started when usually i would have gotten a couple by now. I really think it might work, i think its too early to tell but i'm going to stick with it.
I just never thought i'd be going through this at 26, when i had a clear face all through my teenage years. its awful.
so if anyone would like to chat, or if they have tried what i'm doing right now i'd love to hear what it has done for you.
thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hey yeah I know what you're going through when it comes to avoiding social situations. I'm in college right now and I love it but ya know I don't even wanna lift my head up walking across campus because of it. I tried antibiodics and the topical gel and they made my face really burn and dry up and get worse. I had to go completely off everything after that. I'm really wary of harse treatments because it just makes my skin a lot worse. Anyway, I wish you good luck!
