Hi everyone,

I am a 20 year old sufferer of acne. right now im on spiro and YAZ which are helping, but im still getting zits. I want to try accutane, because the combo of spiro and yaz is exhausting me physically, and not solving the problem permanently. While my active breakouts have mostly stopped, i have severe hyperpigmetation from previous acne. I have gotten a couple chemical peels for this, which while improving my skin somewhat have not completely cured it. My question is, does accutane take care of hyperpigmentation? not scarring, just the pigmentation im annoyed with. I really want to go on this med and get it over with so I can finally get off unneccessary meds. please let me know ur experiences

Accutane doesn't do squat for getting rid of hyperpigmentation. In many cases, new blemishes acquired while on the drug seemed darker and more red.
