I've had acne since i was 11 and it just keeps getting worse and worse as time goes along!
I've tried everything from proactiv to nature's cure and nothing seems to be going right.
I want to go to the Military ball on valentine's day, but i don't want my hair to be done and my skin is looking absolutely disgusting. So should I bail or just go anyways?
16 yr old with serious skin problems?

You should definitely go to that ball.
I've got acne since about three years, the first two years I was really shy and i've isolated myself from the outside world. Straight out of school I went to my room, came out it for diner, soccer, and that's it. Skipped a lot of lessons at school etc. etc. , all kind a things to not hang out with people of my age, because I was scared what they think about my skin.
Thanks to a few teacher's I've become more confident as the year passed.
Now i've still have acne, but also a lot of friends, more then I could ever imagine.
It's not the way that you look, it's the way that you act, it's all about your behavior, really, remind that.
My advice is go to the dermatologist, which will probably give you pills for your acne.
This threathment will take a while, but it's really worth it in the end.

Hey, I know the feeling. I got it around 12 and it got worse, and no treatment would work really. When I was around 15 though, I got so bloody sick of it I told my mom I wanted to go on some actual medication for it. The doctor put me on antibiotics, which helped marginally, but not the way I wanted. Like you, I had an event in a couple of months I wanted to look good at, and not feel embarrassed at. So she put me on the pill, and I seriously recommend it. It's helped, not always, but without it I'd be back at the start.
My skin's better now, still get zits, but nowhere near as bad as it used to be. There were even periods where my skin was clear and all that.
So I definitely recommend going to see your doctor!
