Hello Everyone out there there in acne land.............I guess I'm trying to make light of a sometimes very miserable situation. I'm new to the site and also on the search to finding new products to help my skin. I am a African Canadian woman and at 34 years old I thought I would have been passed the acne stage. Adult acne is no joke. My skin was doing good for awhile but seems, every time I'm stressed it all comes out in my skin. I'm here because my acne is serious and I have to be serious about treating it. I've been doing a lot of research lately.....which lead me to this site. I've come across a few interesting things that I want to try and I will share my progress with you. I"m hoping that you will also drop me a line and share your thoughts, suggestions or any products that is working for you. Tomorrow I'm going to try the ALA and blue light treatment. I've gone for the consultation and was advised by the doctor that it works for some people and doesn't work for some. I'm hoping it will work for me. I'm a bit scared of the after effects but optimistic. Not sure how well this treatment will work for dark skin, however the blue light got be searching for a home unit blue light system that I can use to help kill the bacteria under my skin before it turns into a pimple. They sell home units on ebay.........the cheapest I've found. The next thing I want to try is a treatment called Isolaz.....google it! It's basically a vaccum treat that is suppose to clean out your clogged pores and unfortunately my poors are clogged. It is also suppose to help even out the skin and any discoloration. It's about $250 per treatmen and they say it takes about 4-6 treats to really clear the skin. Well I hope some of this info is informative and helps you some how. I'm looking to hearing from you. Take care

Hey Ebony Beauty! I too am new to this site; and like you, I have brown skin destroyed by acne, large pores, and hyperpigmentation. I have never tried any of the treatments that you will soon undergo. My suggestion to you would be to not put too many aggressive agents on your skin. Less is my with dark skin. Our skin tends to be a bit more sensitive and is therefore prone to scarring. Please keep me posted on your progress. BTW...welcome to the site!
