4+ weeks! i skipped yesterday morning, and by the afternoon, got a zit on my right cheek! i did the regimen as soon as i could that evening, and it's already nearly gone this morning. still doing not a full pump at night, and about 1/2 a pump in the morning. slight flakiness, but my skin overall looks fantastic. if i do more BP than that, it dries my skin out tremendously. i'm still going to try to slowly ramp up to the full dose, but i'm doing only as much as my skin can take without flaking. the redness is basically not an issue anymore, and my skin is glowing.

ps i see that i wrote on day 27 that there may be a few breakouts coming up. they never materialized. the regimen held them off. yay, regimen!

Yay, indeed!!! It took me like 2 full months to experience what you are experiencing. Kinda envious. razz.gif

i started out w/ mild to moderate acne. ie some completely clear days, most days a few clusters in areas underneath chin, on chin, jawline, temple, occasionally cheeks and forehead. and sometimes a moderate breakout, which happens 3 or 4 times a year and this time sent me over the edge to the regimen. the truth is, my skin is SO much better on the regimen, i have much higher standards. i used to feel ok about the little bumps and stuff (sorry, i haven't gotten to the area on this site that names all the diff types of pimples yet!) and just hated the big ones, of which i generally had 2 or 3 and as soon as they healed another one would pop up and visit a few weeks.

i noticed a small zit on my chin yesterday, and it's still here today, but really tiny, barely noticeable, and almost gone. i assume if i ever get AHA (maybe when i need to replenish my supplies) then i can spot treat that. though the BP itself does a nice job. but now that i'm fairly clear, my standards are rising and i want to get really clear.

i keep feeling like this is a dream. i only dreamed my skin could look like this. the regimen does take time, and i don't really like the smell of the moisturizer that i go to sleep w/ every night, and the adjustment period to the BP (while in the past) was as painful if not more painful than lovenox injections (dunno if anyone has every been on them--they buuuuurrrrrrrnnnnn). and if i ever use too much BP my skin responds quickly by overdrying, flaking, or redness. but i simply cannot believe the lack of pimples and blackheads. it's so nice. i've used facewashes and stuff before that worked for a while, and i'm nervous this is like a dream that's going to be snatched away.

4.5 wks

out of nowhere, a big zit on my forehead. i tried to pop it, which was a mistake, and i currently have a large red welt on my forehead. this is the 3rd day. i left it alone one day, attempted popping it the second, and it's a bruise today and yesterday.

on the up side, the zit that appeared on my chin i managed to leave alone, and after 2 DAYS it was gone. i never had zits disappear that quickly before the regimen. also one under my chin/jawline where i've been heavily dousing with BP. so BP definitely doesn't hold off all breakouts. however, never have my chin, cheeks, and forehead (aside from that gigantic one eusa_doh.gif) looked so good.

i'm having small flaking, just if you look closely, and although i'm not red, i do look like i've been tanning. i use a half a pump in the morning and nearly a full pump at night.

5+ weeks. have a couple of zits on my cheek and one on the jawline. but barely visible thanks to the regimen. i'm thinking it's time to up the dosage. i'm doing 1/2 pump in the morning and 3/4 to 1 pump in evening. although dan says to use about half the moisturizer to the BP, i tend to use a 1:1 ratio.

I'm really happy to read your results though. I mean that's what counts, it totally sucks getting zits, believe me I know, but you seem to be doing pretty good and I hope my skin becomes just as nice and smooth. Keep it up!!!!!!!!!!! eusa_clap.gif smile.gif

i'm having trouble upping the dose. when i do, my face gets really red and flaky. maybe i need to keep doing it so my face will adjust. i still have small pimples here and there eusa_boohoo.gif , though NOTHING like before i started the regimen eusa_dance.gif.

i started mixing the jojoba oil with my moisturizer and it's GREAT. i can use less moisturizer now, which dries faster and feels better, and it is cutting down on the flaking.

i tried to use the AHA+ on the few zits i have, and maybe i'm doing it wrong (even though i watched the video) because it seems to have absolutely zero effect. i'm putting it on after the BP and moisturizer. maybe it's supposed to go on before the moisturizer?

in 5 days it will be 2 months. i ordered the refill, i am using jojoba oil and it's helping the flaking. i am NOT acne free. but i am overall clear. i do still get a few pimples every few days. i don't think there's been a day where i've been completely clear. however, the huge breakouts of the type that drove me to BP in the first place have not been happening, and for that i am grateful. i look in the mirror and my skin is glowing (that's the redness, but it gives an attractive "glow") and i can barely see the few pimples that are on my jawline and cheeks. yay, regimen!

i've tried using the AHA+ on the zits, but i just don't have the hang of it. putting a tiny amount seems to do nothing, and larger amounts don't stay just on the zit.

Hey congrats!!! I'm happy to hear that, gives me some hope.

As for the AHA+, I'm with you on that. It doesn't do anything on mine either. eusa_think.gif

i figured i'd update. i've been on the regimen since january, and now it's july. during winter and spring, it was really great smile.gif my skin never looked so good and it was so nice not having acne.

now that it's summertime, i need to adjust the amounts. i've been "breaking out." by that i mean about 7 zits, which is a HUGE improvement from before the regimen eusa_dance.gif but this humid summer weather is causing trouble. i'd been doing fine with 1 pump of BP morning and night. but no longer. so i started using more than one pump, but this is causing excessive flakiness, especially because i'm not using dan's moisturizer in the morning. because of the sun, i'm using the olay (with jojoba oil), but it's still not as good as far as flaking and drying go.

so while the regimen is still holding up, it needs tweaking for summer which i haven't gotten down yet. it's still better than my old acne!

1 week later. i have 9 pimples on my chin/lower cheek area. yikes! i have been using only 1 pump of BP, and i think i'm going to move up to 2 pumps now. to deal with the flaking problem, i've been using a smallish amt of dan's moisturizer plus jojoba oil in the morning, and then when it dries, before i go outside, putting on olay w/ jojoba oil. the flaking is better. the zits are not.

they do look better than they would have before the regimen. they aren't as red and blotchy or long lasting as they used to be. however, i could do without breakout all over my chin!

looking on the bright side, my forehead is still completely clear, as are my upper cheeks and under my chin. and it's only because i've had almost 6 months of gloriously clear skin that i'm upset by these few pimples!!

so last night i decided to use AHA+ instead of moisturizer just on the lower half of my face. boy did it BURN. the burn faded quickly, and i like how my face wasn't moist for hours (i have to put on a lot of moisturizer w/ jojoba at night or else i flake and dry out and this takes forever to dry and gets on my pillow but i find less is not enough). so this morning the pimples were not gone (it ain't that miraculous) but overall they looked much more faded. in general i find that the BP makes the acne look less severe than it used to, even if it doesn't stop the breakout.

i'm trying to decide whether to use AHA again tonight or whether to keep it to a few times a week. on one hand, there was a vast improvement today so why not do it again. otoh, maybe it will be too much and cause irritation. eusa_think.gif

stay tuned..

after some debate, i chose to use the aha just under my cheekbones where the pimples were. i used much less than the previous nt, and used dan's moisturizer + jojoba on my chin and the rest of my face.

my pimples are about 90% gone today. great improvement. i see now why the aha gets rave reviews. i haven't had luck on single zits, but on a cluster, i'm sold.

i am more flaky and red than usual from not lathering on the moisturizer + jojoba, plus i've been using more BP to try to stop breaking out. plus it's summer time and i have sun exposure on my face, despite the spf.

just would like to update since it's been almost a year. my moderate acne has cleared up BEAUTIFULLY. i no longer have acne. in this lovely dry winter weather, i am able to do BP only once a day instead of 2x a day, and sometimes even less frequently. occasionally when i begin to see some breakouts thinking about starting, i go back to 2x a day and nip that in the bud. it's fantastic doing it only once a day (and not even a full pump! just a light layer on the forehead and temples, and a decent layer on the chin and jawline and cheekbones. i use a smallish squirt of moisturizer, and a bunch of drops of jojoba oil.

thank you, dan!

it's time for an update! i started the regimen january 2009, when i finally had it with my acne. i've been using the regimen religiously since then. IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY. my acne has cleared to the point where in the nice dry winter months, i can use 1/2 bump BP and sometimes even only once a day! however, summer i have to go a full pump morning and night or i break out immediately. summer is also tough because a full pump of BP is a little harsh on my skin, and causes flakes. combine that with that i can't use dan's moisturizer during the day because i'm out in the sun (even though i use olay with spf and load up with jojoba oil) i'm still a bit flaky. BUT i am generally acne free since january 2009! one year and 7 months with no acne!! (except for occasional breakouts when the weather changes and i have to shift the proportions). thank you thank you thank you dan!

time for my yearly update. it's now 1/24/11 and i've been acne free using the regimen religiously! actually i'm now at the point that during the winter months, i can use it only once a day and i don't have acne. if i used it 2x a day, i'd probably have zero acne. this way i get something here or there, but it's not really noticeable. regimen rocks!!! wiggle.gif

time for my annual update. i am now able to go 2 days w/o using. on the days i use the regimen, i use it only once a day. if i go too many days, then i do start to break out (this is wintertime). i just went on a mini vacation for 2 days and did not bring the regimen with me. in the summer, i need to use it every other day or i break out. i am so grateful to the regimen (thanks, dan!) for making me acne free.

my teenage daughter finally started using it. for years she had acne but didn't want to put in the time and effort of the 2x a day regimen. and in my case, i had to use it solidly for a couple of years before i was able to start skipping.

so 1/25/2012 and i've been using it since 2009 and i am acne free!

Has using Benzoyl Peroxide on your skin for 2+ years had any negative impacts on your skin other than acne wise?
