I read on other forums how people use ACV + extras.

Example:

I read this as a treatment for acne scars...

QUOTE
\" Mix your own toner using 1/2 water, 1/2 vinegar and a few aspirin. The vinegar causes the old skin cells to flake off, just like the expensive store alpha/beta hydroxy products. The aspirin is basically salicylic acid, which is used in many OTC and prescription acne treatments. The aspirin won't dissolve completely - simply shake the mixture before applying with a cotton ball. Afterwards apply pure vitamin E to your face (I simply burst open the vitamin E pills) and then follow with a moisturizing lotion with at least SPF 15. Use this method twice a day. You'll see your skin improve and even the old acne scars will fade away.\"

It is not mentioned how long it will take to see results.

Another is for HairLoss Treatment.

\"Apple-Cider-Vinegar & Cayenne (capsicum) *

This simple mixture of apple-cider-vinegar and cayenne pepper is a topical circulation aid that you can prepare yourself. You may add ginger (from ginger capsules for additional comfort and effect). Apply this mixture directly to your scalp. The apple-cider-vinegar acts as a solution, the cayenne pepper as a stimulant and ruberfacient (increases blood flow to the surface of the skin). Be very careful too not to let this get into your eyes. As I mentioned in chapter 6, (Polysorbates & Scalp Cleansers), this combination is much like a milder version of pepper spray. It will dilate your capillaries to a blood red. Your scalp will feel a tingling sensation (if ginger is used) or like a mild sunburn if the ginger is not added. Leave this astringent mixture on for five minutes or more rinse off after use. If you feel that your scalp has poor circulation, you may use this as often as you like, although I think of it primarily as a good way to jump-start the process of renewal.

How to prepare:

Mix one 12-ounce bottle of apple-cider-vinegar with three tablespoons of cayenne pepper (capsicum). If using other than condiment style cayenne pepper, like the capsules, then beware of the heat units contained. Cayenne supplements are offered in 40,000 to 200,000 heat units. Use the same three tablespoons worth if the cayenne capsules read 40,000 heat units on the label. If using 100,000 heat units capsicum, then reduce the amount of cayenne to the mixture by one half. If using 200,000 heat units, reduce the amount by a quarter. The amount of ginger to add (optional) can be from one tablespoon or more of ginger powder. Ginger will add to the tingling sensation and help reduce the heat from the capsicum while aiding circulation.\"

Just wanted to hear people's opinions of these (esp. the 1st one) and how and if they work @ all.

The "1st" one is precisely what I do. The aspirin bits never dissolve completely so I always remember to shake up my bottle of ACV before applying it with my cotton ball. My skin is much smoother because of the vinegar and pH balancing effect.

Many other use the ACV in their hair once a week and are loving. Ask Maya about it.

How long before you see results?

Thanks for your input.

This is not a 'heal-quick' procedure. The good ones never are. For first time users, you should dilute the vinegar which technically makes it less potent, but this does not mean that it is any less effective. For me, I'm using almost undiluted ACV and this is about a month later now.

It totally depends on what kind of skin you have and what type of scars you want to smooth over. the vinegar method is best for rolling (bumpy) scars, and that usually takes a few months. A few weeks will probably give you results. Others can probably attest to that.

There are loads of different ways to use ACV!!!

Personally, I don't add asprin/salicylic acid as it doesn't suit my skin type. But I also use it as a final rinse to hair washing now and again ... makes hair really shiny!! Also, I mix it with bentonite clay and make it into a face mask ... totally great for acne. Also, another way I use it is to drink a couple of teaspoons with a little honey in hot water before a meal ... helps to flush your body out, and helps with sore throats and weight loss.... ACV is great stuff!
