i hv been getting the pixel treatment done at the pvt clinic too..n it's nice to c the discussion here! my doctor at the clinic is dr.gupta...so far i hv had 3 treatments...and i've been recommended atleast 5 to see about an 80% improvement...
i have very deep scars on my cheeks and post my 3rd treatment none of them hv completely gone off..however most of them hv become less deep...some almost just on the surface now...my skin tone has improved too...i would say i hv so far a 40-50% improvement...
I'm asian so having dr. gupta, who is Indian, do my treatments is good and reassuring, cuz he seems to know the sensitivities of brown skin. he increases the intensity every session...
i'm paying £500 per treatment, but if ur willing to pay for all 4 treatments as a package u pay £400 per treatment.
i need to add that my skin hs become v.sensitive since the treatments...I use Panoxyl on my acne and since my last session any gel i put on inflamed skin irritates the area making it pink n itchy!
it wld b great to see how everyone's treatments r proceeding...so hope to see mor epostings at this forum!
lastly, 3 cheers to pixel cuz i hv been having acne scar for almost 6 years nows n nothing has worked this good!

I had my treatment Monday and tonight my skin has pretty much fallen off my face after another shower - i have not been picking it off, but it literally falls off with a slight helping hand and the skin underneath does look very clear - im not getting my hopes up yet as ive heard you see good improvement at 1st then it tends to change back.
But i am happy tonight, because i was so worried the skin would not shed in time for work on Friday, but it seems to have all come off bar some areas where he must of 'stacked'
The only annoying thing is i have broken out in white heads, but they are all on the surface and easy to get rid of, but they have left a slight red mark, i hope tomorrow these have gone and i can see a much clearer complexion to see what results i have had.
Can i ask what strength you had the laser at each time Novgirl?

Hi sandman,
I have a similar reaction to the treatments...a lot of tiny white heads pop up within a day or two...but they do seem to go off just as quick too right? the pinkish redness might last a few days but as ur skin heals it will completely wear off... My routine to help my skin deal with the chaos is plenty of liquid intake, fresh juice etc, Vitamin C and lots of moisturiser! Plus i try to stay away from v.spicy food n chocs especialliy within the first week...cuz chocs especially trigger breakouts for me...
I reckon the white heads are a recation to the skin oiling more in response to all the dryness/tightness caused by the treatment!
As soon as the scabs fall off, ur skin is going to look completely amazing n ur going to love it...sadly it doesnt last
Honestly I nvr bothered to check on the intensity level of my treatments..I just know that they it is increased each time...n honestly I only dread the amping up cuz the whole process is painful n uncomfortable for me
I think tho that the intensity used on me must b quite high, cuz dr.gupta keeps lauding me for my composure during the treatment saying I'm one his most tolerant patients! lol. and he says he's done two treatments himself (for scars) at the intensity I did my 2nd n 3rd in...he acknowledges how painful it can be..especially when he does a twice over! a twice over is when he does ur whole face once, and then goes over the bad areas again and this hurts a lot!
Anyway will ask the doc for the exact number next time...and keep u posted...
I took the longest to recover after the 1st treatment, almost one whole week for the scabs to completely fall off...but normally as the intensity of the treatment is increased ur recovery period is shorter..down to abt 4 days...however for me the scabs along the temples n upper forehead usually last longer!

http://www.acne.org/messageboard/Matte-Put...el-t228711.html, so im in two minds if to go for the treatment or not or jus use the monistat/lanacane chafing gel to fill in the scars for the rest of my life lol
can i see ur guys/girls scar pics?, im guessing ur scars must be worse than mine and maybe thats why u havin the treatment done?

I have been bothered about my acne scarring for years and have tried many different treatments, none of which have really done much. When I first heard about Pixel, I shopped around to find a good clinic and doctor.
I asked about the strength of the laser as some have put it on other threads, my 1st one is at 1000, which im pretty happy about as some said they started at 800, i think the next one is 1200, then 1400
Can I point out that Marco IS NOT a Derm (doctor) but a nurse. This means that the settings he can use on the pixel are much lower than those which a doctor can use.
After visiting a few clinics, I decided to go with Same Day Doctor in north London. The doctor is a really nice man who I thought explained the treatment well, including the possible side effects and not just the benefits.
I have had two treatments so far and am very happy. The bonus is that they are much cheaper than most clinics.
I was just reading these posts. I too have had a couple of pixel harmony 2940 at 1400 level.
Just for your information the nurses can use the same settings as the doctors. 1400 is the highest it will go, I had this the second time. Also the nurse stacked more shots over certain areas where scars were deeper. My face was red raw the last time I had it and I looked horrendous, it was truley awful but no pain no gain.

I have my first treatment next Friday so will let you all know how it goes. Am nervous and worried its going to hurt bad. How bad is the heat sensation for that first hour after treatment? Also, did you guys feel you were able to leave the house at all for the first 48 hours?

from what I recall no I didnt leave the house for the first 2 days, and I ended up having to take off another day . The first night was quite unpleasant. Make sure you load up on anti histemines it will help with the tight and itchy feeling plus make you dozy.

I had my 2nd Pixel treatment on Friday and actually found out the power setting was at 1200 the 1st time and not 1000 like i 1st thought, the 2nd time it was at 1300, so im happier the settings where higher then i 1st thought.
It hurt more this time, especially the sides of my chin for some reason, he also stacked my cheeks quite alot.
My face was actually oozing puce this time and weaping quite a bit, but as they say no pain no gain.
Today my face is peeling like crazy, please tell me im not the only one that cant help picking some of the dead skin off? i never try and touch the skin that is stil hard, but i have severe flakey skin that comes off really easy with a helping hand
Also they took a photo of my skin before my 1st treatment so i can see the improvement at the end, did anyone else have this done?
Also while im here does anyone have any experience with Marine Collagen pills? i did a thread on this on the vitamin forum but got no replies, does anyone think it would be worth taking these?
I was going to ask at the clinic but forgot

Hi
I haven't heard of smartxide but had a quick look on the internet. This sounds very new but seems very similar to pixel.

Hi
No, I haven't heard of marine collagen pills.
I also had photos taken before my first treatment. Thanks for your write up of your second treatment. My second one will be in two weeks and will report then. The setting will be 1400 and from what you have just described, I am very nervous about it!

Can i ask how much you paid for your treatment?
Ive booked 3 sessions and paid, but the Prvate clinic said they could two more on the more severe areas for 250 each.
Do you think i should move on after and have some treatment at the one you mentioned?
Also, do you know how much stronger the Doctor goes instead of a Nurse? i thought the limit was 1400, i have read some people have started at 800, but im starting at 1000
Sorry for all the questions
Hi
I paid £900 as a package for 3 sessions to my entire face (have had 2 so far). I am really happy so far and would recommend the doctor and clinic. Maybe just go and have a consultation anyway? You have nothing to loose!
He used bewteen 1300-1400 both times - I saw it on the machine display! If you are gonna do a job, you may as well do it properley

Went to private clinic today and saw the nurse for consultation and was disgusted! thank god its was free! OMG...all she kept saying is Pixel this, pixel that, pixel is the bet for my skin, pixel is this, its dat...im like shutup!. she didnt even look at my scars, she sat 6 feet away and sed u need pixel.
i sed, do u use any other laser, she sed pixel...im like wtf lol
pixel is £100 cheaper than in private clinic than samdaydoctor.
but samedaydoctor sed pixel wont do much for me so he will use erbium laser. whereasprivtae clinic will only use pixel
im stickin to samedaydoctor for da time being, but can sumone recommend more clinics? thnks
